Be present at the ‘anti-terror’ meet on February 20

Kolkata, Jan 28: Trinamool Congress Chairperson Mamata Banerjee today said she will address a meeting in the heart of the city on February 20 to protest the ‘unabated terror’ in the state in the run-up to Assembly elections. At a press meet today Ms Banerjee revealed, that a number of rallies from different ‘terror-stricken’ places would assemble near the Gandhi statue, the venue of the proposed meeting. A number of party MPs and MLAs are expected to address the gathering, Ms Banerjee added. She claimed that the ‘wind of change’ is noticeable in the state since the Singur movement which had been ‘strengthened’ afterwards. ”From Nandigram to Netai, West Bengal is experiencing unabated terror, masterminded by the Left Front government and it is a matter of concern that there is no let up in violence in the state going to polls soon,” Ms Banerjee observed. The Trinamool Congress chief alleged that the ruling Left Front had failed on all fronts during the 34-year-old regime and now anticipating a ‘defeat’ in the Assembly poll, it was resorting to ‘terror tactics.’
