Bangla’s first Honey Hub coming up in Deganga
On the demand of the few thousand honey bee-keepers of North 24 Parganas, the State Government has decided to set up its first Honey Hub, consisting of a honey processing centre and a sales counter, at Deganga in Barasat subdivision.
Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya would be providing the technical expertise for setting up the hub. The hub would adopt the latest scientific techniques to purify the honey to the highest level of quality.
The centre would be run by the Horticulture Department. The government is also thinking about setting up a cooperative of the honeybee-keepers of the district.
