Manas Bhunia asks a Question on Anganwadi workers

FULL TRANSCRIPT
Will the Minister of WOMEN AND CHILD DEVELOPMENT be pleased to state:
(a) whether Government is planning to increase the number of Anganwadi Centres (AWCs) in each State;
(b) if so, the details of the plan to be implemented;
(c) at present how many Anganwadi Centres are in the country; and
(d) what is the amount of salary/wages being paid to workers and helpers in each Centre?
FIRST SUPPLEMENTARY QUESTION
Sir, in our country, in all the states, there are 30,99,697 sanctioned Anganwadi centres and the number of operational centres are 30,77,595. So, 22102 centres are not operationalised at this moment. What is your understanding and direction and what is your supervisory report on how these non-operational centres will be operated?.
SECOND SUPPLEMENTARY QUESTION
I want to know, through you Sir, from Hon’ble Minister that the sanctioned number of posts of the Anganwadi workers, as on date is 30,99,697 and the existing position is 30,20,858. So, 7,80,839 Anganwadi workers are not in working condition. My second point is that helpers (1,06,646 workers) are not in working condition. What are the reasons?
