Trinamool organises second rally against rail fare hike
All India Trinamool Congress staged the second protest rally against the railway and city metro railway fare hike on 17 October. The rally started from College Square and ended at Sealdah. The rally was led by Leader of AITC Parliamentary Party Sudip Bandopadhyay, AITC State President Subrata Bakshi and Lok Sabha PM Suvendu Adhikari. State transport Minister Madan Mitra was also present at the protest rally.
The country is already facing unprecedented economic crisis because of the policies of the United Progressive Alliance government at the centre, moreover hiking the fare of the `lifeline of India` adds to the woes of the common people.
Leader of AITC Parliamentary Party Sudip Bandopadhyay told the party workers, “the way UPA-II is functioning, there is no chance that there will be UPA-III … There will be no UPA-III, “
“We will battle the Congress government on why it is sidelining our state while providing special benefits to others “ he added.
He also said regional parties would have a major role to play after the Lok Sabha election. “The regional parties are assuming primary positions, and Trinamool Congress` power will prevail. “
AITC Parliamentary Party members will meet Union Finance Minister on 21st Oct in New Delhi.
