Panchayat dept involving folk artistes for cleanliness campaign
The Panchayat and Rural Development department has chalked out a unique programme, engaging folk artistes to create awareness among the people about the activities after declaration of open defecation free (ODF).
Eight districts in the state have become open defection free (till Jan 31, 2018). They are Nadia, North 24-Parganas, South 24-Parganas, Hooghly, East Midnapore, Cooch Behar, East Burdwan and West Burdwan. Six more districts, namely Howrah, Birbhum, Malda, Murshidabad, South Dinajpur and West Midnapore, will be declared ODF districts shortly. This is for the first time when the folk artistes are being used in the campaign.
To create awareness among the rural populace, the Panchayat and Rural Development department has been using the folk art forms like baul, kirtan, bhaowaiah, jhumur and chhau dance.
The folk artistes were given the theme and they composed songs and sung them. Songs have been composed, urging people to minimise the use of plastic. People will be made aware about segregation of solid waste at source, hand washing to avoid infection and other issues related to basic hygiene.
নির্মল বাংলার প্রচারে লোকশিল্পীরা
গ্রামাঞ্চলের মানুষদের মধ্যে নির্মল বাংলা মিশন নিয়ে সচেতনতা বৃদ্ধির জন্য প্রচারে নেমেছেন লোক শিল্পীরা, যা পঞ্চায়েত ও গ্রামোন্নয়ন বিভাগের এক অভিনব উদ্যোগ।
ইতিমধ্যেই নদিয়া, উত্তর ২৪ পরগনা, দক্ষিণ ২৪ পরগনা, হুগলী, পূর্ব মেদিনীপুর, কোচবিহার, পূর্ব ও পশ্চিম বর্ধমান – এই ৮টি জেলাকে নির্মল জেলা ঘোষণা করা হয়েছে। শীঘ্রই আরও ৬টি জেলাকে নির্মল ঘোষণা করা হবে; এগুলি হল যথাক্রমে – হাওড়া, বীরভূম, মালদা, মুর্শিদাবাদ, দক্ষিণ দিনাজপুর এবং পশ্চিম মেদিনীপুর।
এই প্রথমবার লোকশিল্পীরা এই রকম একটা প্রকল্পের প্রচার করছেন। গ্রাম বাংলার মানুষের মধ্যে সচেতনতা সৃষ্টির জন্য পঞ্চায়েত ও গ্রামোন্নয়ন বিভাগ বিভিন্ন ধরনের লোকশিল্প – যেমন, বাউল, কীর্তন, ভাওয়াইয়া, ঝুমুর, ছৌ ইত্যাদি – ব্যবহার করছে।
লোকশিল্পীদের জন্য বিভিন্ন থিম বরাদ্দ করা হয়েছে এবং সেই অনুযায়ী তারা গান রচনা করেছেন। গানগুলির মাধ্যমে সাধারণ মানুষের প্লাস্টিকের ব্যবহার কমানোর জন্য জোর দেওয়া হচ্ছে, কঠিন বর্জ্য অপসারণের বিষয়ে সচেতন করা হচ্ছে, সংক্রমণ থেকে বাঁচার জন্য হাত ধোয়া এবং মৌলিক স্বাস্থ্যবিধি সংক্রান্ত সমস্যাগুলি সম্পর্কে মানুষকে অবগত করা হচ্ছে।
