Nusrat Jahan’s Zero Hour mention on the need for the construction of Uttar Debipur halt station in her constituency

Sir, I would like to draw the kind attention of the Government to the need of around 10 to 13 villages in Basirhat and Hasanabad P.S. Most people of the village of Uttar Debipur and the adjoining villages earn their livelihood through cultivation. They are workers; they are doctors. Their only mode of transportation is railways between Champapukur and Barasat or Champapukur and Kolkata. A new railway station, named `Uttar Debipur Halt Station’ has been proposed by the hon. Railway Minister during his 2012-13 Railway Budget Speech. An Enquiry Committee was formed for selecting an appropriate location for constructing the said platform, that is between Champapukur station and Bhabla halt station. Uttar Debipur halt station will be helpful to the passengers, not only for the nearby villages, but also for four municipal wards of Basirhat Municipality. The Eastern Railway Division has examined the place of Uttar Debipur halt station over Hasanabad-Sealdah Section. A detailed report has already been sent to the Railway Board on 7th April, 2014. This is 2022 which is ending in the next few days, but we have not heard anything from the Railway Ministry in this regard. So, I would request the Government, through you, to kindly sanction Uttar Debipur halt station as soon as possible, as thousands of people commute through this route.
