Mamata Banerjee`s Healing touch for Vrindavan Widows

Mamata Banerjee`s Healing touch for Vrindavan Widows
Despite being down with fever since two days, West Bengal Chief Minister Ms. Mamata Banerjee found time to meet nearly 50 widows from West Bengal who have been spending their lives as castaways in the Hindu pilgrimage town of Vrindavan in Uttar Pradesh for decades now. The widows are in the city to participate in the Pujas, thanks to an initiative taken by an NGO.
The Chief Minister handed over plain white sarees to them at the inaugural ceremony of the Samaj Sevi Club Durga Puja, near Deshapriya Park in South Kolkata. West Bengal Chief Minister interacted with the women at the event.
They had brought Krishna idols and the Bhagavad Gita from Vrindavan for the Chief Minister and also presented her a token gift during the event on Tuesday.
Ms. Banerjee offered all assistance to rehabilitate the Vrindavan widows, if they choose to return to the State.
