List of Trinamool candidates for Municipal Elections
After winning eight out of the 12 civic bodies that went to polls and results of which were announced on September 24, Trinamool Congress is getting ready for the Municipal elections in five other civic bodies – Krishnanagar, Berhampur, Medinipur and Jhargram municipalities and Howrah Municipal Corporation, which are going to the polls on November 22, 2013.
By-elections in 29 wards under various civic bodies, including two wards of the Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC), are also going to take place on same date. The Trinamool candidates for the KMC by-election in ward numbers 1 and 24 are Sita Jaiswal and Mrinal Saha respectively.
In Krishnanagar, out of the 26 seats, 10 have been reserved for women candidates. Incidentally, a number of councilors from other parties had joined Trinamool Congress a few days back.
In Howrah, Trinamool will contest the municipality election in all the 50 wards.
