During Trinamool rule, over 16 lakh hectares brought under crop insurance
The Trinamool Congress Government has brought 16.55 lakh hectares of agricultural land under crop insurance. Over the last five years (considering financial years), agricultural land under crop insurance has increased from 4.45 lakh hectares to 21 lakh hectares.
Consequently, during financial year 2011-12, only 8.89 lakh farmers got the benefits of crop insurance, compared to 44.7 lakh during 2016-17.
It may be mentioned that since the change of guard in the state, the government gave agricultural input subsidy worth Rs 1,336.43 crore among 32.83 lakh farmers for crop damage due to natural calamities like hailstorm, non-seasonal heavy rain, flood, drought, etc. from the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF).

তৃণমূল সরকারের আমলে ১৬.৫৫ লক্ষ হেক্টর চাষের জমি এসেছে ফসল বীমার আওতায়। পাঁচ বছর আগেও এই রাজ্যে মাত্র ৪.৪৫ লক্ষ হেক্টর জমি ফসল বীমার আওতায় ছিল, যা এবারে বেড়ে হয়েছে ২১ লক্ষ হেক্টর জমি।
২০১১-১২ আর্থিক বর্ষে মাত্র ৮.৮৯ লক্ষ কৃষকরা ফসল বীমার আওতায় ছিল; এই সংখ্যাটিও বেড়ে হয়েছে ৪৪.৭ লক্ষ।
এছাড়াও, ২০১১ সালে তৃণমূল শাসনভার গ্রহণ করার পর থেকে ৩৮.৮৩ লক্ষ কৃষককে ইনপুট সাবসিডি বাবদ দেওয়া হয়েছে ১৩৩৬.৪৩ কোটি টাকা। প্রাকৃতিক দুর্যোগে ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত ফসলে ক্ষতিপূরণ দেওয়া হয় স্টেট ডিস্যাস্টার রিলিফ ফান্ড থেকে।
