Dissemination of agricultural information and publicity
For the dissemination of modern technology up to the grassroots level, the State Agriculture Department organises various types of training programmes for farmers and for farmers’ sons, conducts group meetings and arranges for the circulation and broadcasting of different agricultural advisories, the latter in both electronic and print media.
The department participates in fairs, both in other places in India and outside India, organises fairs in the state and airs farmer-related programmes and issue-based advertisements on radio.
Fairs, seminars and awards
The Agriculture Department participated in World Food India 2017, held in New Delhi from November 3 to 5, to promote the state’s achievements in the agricultural sector and to intimate prospective investors about the opportunities existing in the agro-based industries sector in Bengal. The department also participates in many agriculture-related fairs and seminars organised by various government departments and chambers of commerce.
Mati Utsav 2018 was successfully organised at the Mati Tirtha Krishi Katha premises in Bardhaman from January 2 to 8, 2018. Plans have been made to organise programmes on agriculture and allied sectors round-the-year at the venue.
Mati Tirtha Krishi Katha is a unique centre, set up to create more awareness and facilitate farming, fisheries, animal husbandry, horticulture, floriculture and other soil-based activities. It was inaugurated by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on February 9, 2015. The FAO representative in India, present on the occasion, had appreciated this initiative of the Bengal Government to create scientific and cultural facilities for the farming community.
Subdivision and block-level Krishi Melas are organised throughout the state to highlight the activities and achievements of Agriculture and allied departments. In 2017, they were held across 333 blocks from November 25 to December 25 on an expenditure of Rs 732.6 lakh.
In these fairs, remarkable achievements of farmers are recognised through the Krishak Samman and Krishak Ratna awards.
Television and radio programmes
A live phone-in sponsored programme called ‘Aamra Chas Kori Anande’ is aired through All India Radio (AIR) for bilateral communication between farmers and agricultural experts.
For awareness of farmers, round-the-year ‘Agricultural Awareness Spots’, that is, advertisements, are also aired through different AIR stations of Kolkata and Siliguri.
Officers of the department participate as experts in the weekly ‘Krishi Darshan’ programme telecast on Doordarshan and some other channels.
কৃষি তথ্য এবং প্রচার – কিছু উদ্যোগ
২০১১ সালে ক্ষমতায় আসার পর থেকে কৃষিজ ক্ষেত্রে ধীরে ধীরে স্বয়ংসম্পূর্ণ রাজ্য হিসেবে আত্মপ্রকাশ করার জোর দিয়েছেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী. কৃষির উন্নয়নের জন্য নেওয়া হয়েছে একাধিক পদক্ষেপ।
দেখে নেওয়া যাক, সরকারের নেওয়া কিছু পদক্ষেপ।
অত্যাধুনিক প্রজুক্তির ব্যবহার একদম তৃণমূল স্তর পর্যন্ত পৌঁছে দিতে কৃষি দপ্তর আয়োজন করেন কৃষকদের প্রশিক্ষণের, কৃষকদের ছেলেদের প্রশিক্ষণ, দলগত সভা। এছাড়াও ইলেক্ট্রনিক ও প্রিন্ট মাধ্যমে কৃষিজ বিভিন্ন তথ্যের প্রচার।
২০১৭ সালের ৩রা থেকে ৫ম নভেম্বরে নতুন দিল্লীতে অনুষ্ঠিত ওয়ার্ল্ড ফুড ইন্ডিয়া ২০১৭ তে অংশগ্রহণ করে রাজ্যের সাফল্য তুলে ধরতে ও পাশাপাশি এ রাজ্যে কৃষিতে জে বিপুল সম্ভাবনা আছে, তাঁর জানান দিতে।
২০১৮ সালের ২রা থেকে ৮ই জানুয়ারি মাটি তীর্থ কৃষি কথা প্রাঙ্গনে অনুষ্ঠিত হয় মাটি উৎসব ২০১৮। পরিকল্পনা নেওয়া হয়েছে কৃষি ও কৃষি সংলগ্ন ক্ষেত্রগুলিকে একত্র করে সারা বছর ধরে এই উৎসব পালন করার।
২০১৭ সালের ২৫শে নভেম্বর থেকে ২৫শে ডিসেম্বরের মধ্যে ব্লক ও মহকুমা স্তরে কৃষি মেলার আয়োজন করা হয়। এই এক মাস ব্যাপী মেলায় খরচ হয় ৭৩২.৬ লক্ষ টাকা। এই আয়োজন হয় ৩৩৩টি ব্লকে কৃষি ও কৃষি সংলগ্ন ক্ষেত্রে বিভিন্ন সাফল্য ও কর্মসুচীর কথা তুলে ধরতে। এই মেলাগুলিতে চাষিদের অভাবনীয় সাফল্যের মূল্যায়ন হয় কৃষক সম্মান ও কৃষক রত্ন সম্মানের দ্বারা। এছাড়াও বিভিন্ন গ্রামীণ মেলাকে সাহায্য করেছে এই দপ্তর বিশেষত অনগ্রসর ও উপজাতি অঞ্চলগুলিতে।
বিভিন্ন সরকারি দপ্তর ও চেম্বার অফ কমার্স দ্বারা আয়োজিত অনেক মেলা ও আলোচনাসভায় অংশ নিয়েছে এই দপ্তর।
লাইভ ফোন-ইন স্পনসর্ড অনুষ্ঠান ‘আমরা চাষ করি আনন্দে’ সম্প্রচারিত হয় অল ইন্ডিয়া রেডিওর মাধ্যমে। এখানে চাষি ও কৃষি বিশেষজ্ঞরা সরাসরি আলোচনা করতে পারেন। রাজ্যের চাষিদের সচেতন করতে সারা বছর ধরে অল ইন্ডিয়া রেডিওর কলকাতা ও শিলিগুড়ি ষ্টেশনে সম্প্রচারিত হয় ‘এগ্রিকালচারাল অ্যাওয়ারনেস স্পটস।’
কৃষি অধিকর্তারা দূরদর্শন ও অন্যান্য কয়েকটি টেলিভিশন চ্যানেলে সম্প্রচারিত হওয়া সাপ্তাহিক ‘কৃষি দর্শন’ অনুষ্ঠানে অংশ নেয়।
