College admissions in the state to be held online for transparency, announces WB CM
Chief Minister Ms. Mamata Banerjee today said that to have transparency in the college admission process, students studying in government and government aided colleges can now get admission forms online.
The decision was taken after it was found that most of the students` union collect huge amount as subscription from students in the name of giving them forms, in colleges where the online system of collecting admission form is yet to be introduced.
While speaking at the foundation stone laying ceremony of the second campus of the Presidency University, Miss Mamata Banerjee instructed the officials of the state education department to speed up the process of online admission forms so that students could avail the facility from June onwards.
According to the statistics collected from the state government, there are 38 government colleges and 460 government aided colleges in the state, and nearly 10 per cent of the colleges have introduced online submission of admission forms.

কলেজে অনলাইনে ভর্তি আবশ্যিক করছে রাজ্য
ছাত্র ভর্তি নিয়ে গোলমাল রুখতে কলেজে ভর্তির ক্ষেত্রে অনলাইন প্রক্রিয়া বাধ্যতামূলক করছে রাজ্য সরকার। বৃহস্পতিবার নিউটাউনে প্রেসিডেন্সি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের দ্বিতীয় ক্যাম্পাসের শিলান্যাস অনুষ্ঠানে মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় এই ঘোষণা করেছেন।
এ দিনের অনুষ্ঠানে মুখ্যমন্ত্রী বলেন, “কলেজের ভাবমূর্তি অক্ষুণ্ণ রাখতে কলেজে কলেজে অনলাইন ভর্তির ব্যবস্থা শুরু হোক। এর ফলে যেমন ছাত্রছাত্রীরা বাড়িতে বসে ভর্তি হতে পারবে, সে রকমই ভর্তির ব্যপারে স্বচ্ছতাও বাড়বে। কিছু কলেজে এই ব্যবস্থা চালু হয়েছে ঠিকই। কিন্তু সব কলেজেই তা চালু করতে হবে।“
রাজ্যের অনেক কলেজেই অনলাইন ভর্তির পদ্ধতি চালু আছে। আবার অনেক জায়গায় তা কাযর্কর করা যায়নি। শিক্ষায় স্বচ্ছতার প্রতিশ্রুতি বজায় রাখতেই রাজ্য সরকার অনলাইন ভর্তি–প্রক্রিয়া বাধ্যতামূলক করতে চলেছে বলে শিক্ষাজগতের অনেকের ধারণা।
শিক্ষামন্ত্রী ব্রাত্য বসু আগেই অনলাইন ব্যবস্থা চালু করার কথা বলেছেন। সম্প্রতি দলের সর্বভারতীয় সাধারণ সম্পাদক মুকুল রায়ও জানিয়েছেন একই কথা। বৃহস্পতিবার মুখ্যমন্ত্রী স্বয়ং এ কথা ঘোষণা করায় কলেজের অধ্যক্ষদের দুশ্চিন্তা অনেকটাই কমল। উচ্চ মাধ্যমিক ও দ্বাদশ শ্রেণির অন্যান্য পরীক্ষার ফল প্রকাশের পরে জুন মাস থেকে বিভিন্ন কলেজে স্নাতক স্তরে ছাত্রভর্তি শুরু হয়। ছাত্রভর্তিকে কেন্দ্র করে অধ্যক্ষদের উপর দিয়ে ঝড় বয়ে যায়। কিন্তু অনলাইন মানে সম্পূর্ণ স্বচ্ছ ভাবে মেধার ভিত্তিতে ভর্তি চালু হওয়া। মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর এই রক্ষাকবচ অধ্যক্ষদের বহু অশান্তির হাত থেকে বাঁচাবে।
