WB CM announces the resumption of housing loan scheme for State Government employees

Trinamool Chairperson has always advocated the existence of all employees` unions affiliated to the party to be brought under one umbrella. A huge progress has been made in this regard and on February 22, the Trinamool Congress held a convention of state government employees unions affiliated to it.
Pashimbanga Sarkari Karmachari Federation (West Bengal State Government Employees` Federation), an umbrella organisation of Trinamool Congress-led unions of State Government employees, will hold its maiden state convention at Netaji Indoor Stadium on February 22. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee presided over this meeting. The Chief Minister asked the employees to cooperate with the Government is providing public services. She called the Government Employees `assets` and stressed on the importance of work culture.
Taking digs at the CPI(M), the Chief Minister said, Left unions completely destroyed the work culture of Bengal in the last 34 years. During the occasion, the Chief Minister announced the revival of the State Government Employees Housing Loan Scheme that was stopped in 2006. She named the scheme `Akansha` and also announced the extension of health scheme for State Government Employees till 2015.
Apart from the employees, Chief Minister also said her Government was working towards the benefit of the families of those who work for the State Government. She slammed the Centre for taking away a large share of the revenue as debt instalments. She also demanded that the Central Government make allowances for State Government employees while hiking DA for Central Government employees.
