Chief Minister meets FICCI representatives, says a probe committee has been constituted into Dubrajpur violence

West Bengal Chief Minister Ms. Mamata Banerjee convened a meeting with the representatives of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) at Writers` on Wednesday.
Chief Minister Ms. Banerjee after the meeting informed that a high level probe has been issued into the violence that sparked off in Dubrajpur at Durgapur on Tuesday.
Refuting all the allegations that the police applied force to vacate the place and carried out atrocities on the poor villagers, the Chief Minister said that the entire incident was fabricated by the coal mafia in the area and were responsible for the spreading terror among the innocent villagers. However, the Chief Minister said that she has already sent the State Industry Minister to Dubrajpur to find out the facts. `Though we have high level meeting and representatives from Information & Technology sector will come in the afternoon, still I have sent the minister since I am concerned about the incident`, said the Chief Minister.
She complimented the police for not taking to firing inspite of provocation by the locals and keeping their cool. The Chief Minister blamed the mafia for the violence and said, `I have nothing against the poor and innocent villagers and I can well understand that under what circumstances they retaliated. I have all the sympathy with the villagers since they were used by some vested interests`.
