Bangla best in 100 Days’ Work
Bangla is best in the country in terms of providing the highest amount of work under MGNREGA Scheme, better known as 100 Days’ Work, in consecutive financial years – 2017-18 and 2018-19.
This data came from a recent answer to a question asked by a Trinamool Congress MP in the Rajya Sabha, given by the Union Rural Development Ministry.
In 2017-18, the State created 31 crore 25 lakh 55,000 person-days, which was the highest in India. This went up to 33 crore 84 lakh 69,000 person-days, which was again the highest. Not just this, in terms of the amount spent in paying salaries to MGNREGA workers too, the State is ahead of the rest – spending Rs 7,913.14 crore in FY 2017-18.
These numbers prove the success in improving the rural economy that the Trinamool Congress Government has had. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has always led from the front in making Bangla the best State in various aspects and on various parameters, which has also been endorsed through various awards, both by the Central Government and by international organisations.
