Jawhar Sircar asks a Supplementary Question on removing halts for trains at smaller stations

Thank you, Sir. Since the question is on railway lines within Madhya Pradesh, may I ask the Honourable Minister to inform the House, as to how many railway station halts have been put on hold in the name of COVID?

We have gone through a lot of difficulties in the name of COVID, but one of the things the Railways is trying to do is to bring in economy by stopping [halts at] smaller stations. Now, that cannot be permanent [as] that [halts at smaller stations],is a social obligation. And that applies to the whole of India.
