Lok Sabha MP Asit Kumar Mal’s Zero Hour mention on the demand for restarting the Burdwan-Malda local train, which was stopped during the COVID-19 pandemic
Madam, I would like to mention a very essential matter that Barddhaman-Malda local passenger train (Eastern Zone) used to run regularly. The train would start from Barddhamanat 6.00 AM and would reach Malda at 1:00 PM via Bolpur, Rampurhat, Pakur and Farakka. The train again would start from Malda after 1:00 PM and reach Barddhaman following the same route. But during COVID-19, the train was stopped. As a result, thousands of daily passengers fell into great problem. Now, there is no COVID situation, there is no reason for keeping the train stopped. Thousands of daily passengers have been suffering a lot for a long time. I, therefore, fervently request the hon. Railway Minister to run the train as soon as possible in the interest of the thousands of daily passengers.
