Chief Minister meets representatives of 11 government employees` unions

Chief Minister Ms Mamata Banerjee met representatives of all the 11 government employees’ unions, including the Left-backed co-ordination committee on Monday, and asked them to work impartially and irrespective of party colours. “We are like a family. Give me some time to organise things here. Be patient,” she told the employees.

The union leaders requested an “interface” with the government so that government employees could express their views.

Ms Banerjee said she had decided to meet representatives of the unions every three months. The union members couldn`t recall the last time they had a similar meeting with a chief minister.
