After coming to power, Mamata Banerjee had instructed the Irrigation Department to draw up a plan to provide relief to the people of Ghatal from recurrent floods every year. This ‘master plan’ was drawn up by the department and sent to the Centre for clearance in 2014. Although the Centre has finally given its nod to Ghatal Master Plan, but they have not allocated any fund for the Rs 1238 crore project.

The Chief Secretary of the Union Minister of Water Resources communicated the same to state government officials last week. The Bengal Government is livid as the Centre has refused to bear the cost of the project. The officials have decided to write to the Centre seeking funds for Ghatal Master Plan.

As per the officials, this is yet another example of the neglect shown by Centre towards the State. In the past, for irrigation projects, the Centre and State used to share the cost at a ratio of 75-25. After Narendra Modi led government came to power, the share of Centre was reduced to 50 per cent. But in case of Ghatal Master Plan, the Centre has not even allocated funds for its share of 50 per cent.

What is Ghatal Master Plan?

As per the irrigation department officials, during monsoon, areas of Ghatal get inundated by the waters of Shilabati river. This causes a lot of trouble to the people of the region. Even areas like Chetua, Daspur 1 and 2 blocks are affected. The master plan was drawn up to provide relief to the people. The plan includes construction of a 6 meter dam over Shilabati river and installation of a pump (with 5000 cusec capacity) in Ghatal. This apart, desiltation work will be carried out at Old Kosi, New Kosi, Durgachoti and other rivers to increase navigability. Repair work would be carried out for several canals.

By not allotting funds for Ghatal Master Plan, the Centre has yet again dealt a several blow to the federal structure of the country.

The Bengal Government has decided to repair and dredge all irrigation canals in the state before the start of the rainy season. The government has allotted Rs 1,008.5 lakh crore for the purpose. The Irrigation Department would undertake the entire work.

According to Irrigation Department officials, the state has been divided into five zones for the project, and money allocated accordingly.

The north-eastern zone consists of the districts of Cooch Behar, Alipurduar, Jalpaiguri and Darjeeling and has been allotted Rs 113 crore. The northern zone consists of Uttar Dinajpur, Dakshin Dinajpur, Malda, Murshidabad, Nadia and Birbhum, and for these, Rs 173.5 crore has been allotted.

The western zone consists of Purba Bardhaman, Paschim Bardhaman, Howrah and Hooghly district, and these together have got Rs 203 crore. For the districts of Bankura, Purulia, Purba Medinipur, Paschim Medinipur and Jhargram, Rs 296 crore has been allotted, and finally, for North 24 Parganas, South 24 Parganas and greater Kolkata, Rs 223 crore has been allotted.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has always placed a lot of stress on developmental work, and ensures that people-centric projects are spread out evenly across the state and are not hampered in any way.

For this project too, and more so because of its being closely connected with the rural population, she has sent out explicit instructions to the concerned officials to ensure that work is not hampered in any way because of the panchayat election.

 

বর্ষার আগেই রাজ্যের সমস্ত মজে যাওয়া সেচ খাল, জমিনদারি বাঁধ মেরামত হবে

আগামী বর্ষার আগেই রাজ্যের সমস্ত মজে যাওয়া সেচ খাল, জমিনদারি বাঁধ, ক্ষুদ্র সেচ বাঁধ মেরামত করবে রাজ্য সরকার। আগামী বর্ষায় এইসব বাঁধ বা খাল ভেঙে যাতে বিপত্তি না হয়, তার জন্য দ্রুত কাজ শেষ করতে নির্দেশ দেওয়া হয়েছে।

২০১৮-’১৯ আর্থিক বছরের বাজেটে বরাদ্দ অর্থ থেকেই এই কাজ হবে। এর জন্য ১ হাজার ৮ কোটি ৫০ লক্ষ টাকা বরাদ্দ করা হয়েছে। এই খালগুলি সংস্কার হলে, সেগুলিতে জলধারণ ক্ষমতাও বৃদ্ধি পাবে।

গঙ্গা-পদ্মা ভাঙন রোধ কেন্দ্রের করার কথা। কিন্তু, কেন্দ্রীয় সরকার এই নিয়ে কোনও কাজ করছে না, অর্থও বরাদ্দ করছে না। কয়েকটি জায়গায় গঙ্গা-পদ্মা ভাঙন ভয়াবহ আকার নিয়েছে। সেই সব জায়গাতেও কাজ করবে সেচ দপ্তর।

এই কাজগুলি বর্ষার আগে শেষ হয়ে গেলে বর্ষায় বাঁধ ভাঙা থেকে যেমন রক্ষা পাওয়া যাবে, তেমনই সারা বছর ওই খাল দিয়ে সেচের জলও ভালোভাবে দেওয়া যাবে।

এই কাজের জন্য কয়েকটি জোনে গোটা রাজ্যকে ভাগ করা হয়েছে:

  • উত্তর-পূর্ব জোনে রয়েছে কোচবিহার, আলিপুরদুয়ার, জলপাইগুড়ি ও দার্জিলিং জেলা। এই জোনের জন্য বরাদ্দ হয়েছে ১১৩ কোটি টাকা।
  • উত্তর জোনে রয়েছে দুই দিনাজপুর, মালদহ, মুর্শিদাবাদ, নদীয়া ও বীরভূম জেলা। এই জোনের জন্য বরাদ্দ হয়েছে ১৭৩.৫ কোটি টাকা।
  • পশ্চিম জোনে রয়েছে পূর্ব ও পশ্চিম বর্ধমান, হাওড়া ও হুগলি জেলা। এই জোনের জন্য বরাদ্দ হয়েছে ২০৩ কোটি টাকা।
  • বাঁকুড়া, পুরুলিয়া, পূর্ব ও পশ্চিম মেদিনীপুর ও ঝাড়গ্রাম জেলার জন্য বরাদ্দ হয়েছে ২৯৬ কোটি টাকা, এবং
  • উত্তর ও দক্ষিণ ২৪ পরগনা ও বৃহত্তর কলকাতার জন্য বরাদ্দ হয়েছে ২২৩ কোটি টাকা

The Bengal Government’s Irrigation Department, in collaboration with Housing Infrastructure Development Corporation (HIDCO), has chalked out a plan to beautify the banks of a stretch on the Bagjola Canal that passes through New Town.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee wants the stretch to be developed which is situated close to the Biswa Bangla Convention Centre, the showpiece convention centre of the State Government.

The banks of Bagjola Canal have already been beautified and lights have been installed and meticulous gardening has been done. The State Government is carrying out dredging operation in some parts of the Bagjola Canal and the embankments are being repaired or reconstructed.

As part of the beautification project, among other things, fountains will be installed along the banks of the canal, nets will be installed on both the two banks to prevent people from throwing garbage in the canal and the floating garbage will be cleaned.

বাগজোলা খালপাড়ের সৌন্দর্যায়ন করবে সেচ দপ্তর

হিডকোর সঙ্গে যৌথ উদ্যোগে নিউটাউনের বাগজোলা খালপাড়ের সৌন্দর্যায়ন করবে রাজ্য সেচ দপ্তর।

মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর ঐকান্তিক ইচ্ছায় নব নির্মিত বিশ্ব বাংলা কনভেনশন সেন্টারের অনতিদূরে অবস্থিত এই বাগজোলা খালপাড়ের সৌন্দর্যায়ন করার উদ্যোগ রাজ্যের।

বাগজোলা খালের দুপাশে ইতিমধ্যেই বসানো হয়েছে নতুন আলোস্তম্ভ, সাজানো হয়েছে বাগান। রাজ্য সরকার বাগজোলা খালে ড্রেজিং করছে এবং বিভিন্ন বাঁধগুলোর সংস্কারও করা হচ্ছে।

এই খালের দুপাশে বসানো হবে ফোয়ারাও। দুই পাড় জাল দিয়ে ঘেরা হবে যাতে এই খালে কেউ ময়লা ফেলতে না পারেন। নিয়মিত ভাসমান ময়লা পরিষ্কারও করা হবে।

The State Government, on the instructions of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, has decided to take the help of technology to determine the exact amount of water in the dams across the state.

The current system is manual. Now that will become easier with the help of technology. Through satellite images, CCTV system at dams and barrages, sensor systems and radio frequencies, it will be possible to determine the detailed data related to water flow in rivers and levels of water in reservoirs, which will be conveyed to a joint control room.

From this control room, accurate data will be communicated to officials of the Irrigation Department and other departments wherever required in the state, so that adequate relief measures can be taken in advance. Data on how much water has been released by dams in neighbouring states into rivers, which flow into Bengal, will also be shown on the giant monitors in the control room.

 

বাঁধে কত জল, বলবে প্রযুক্তিই

 

যথাসময়ে নদী ও বাঁধের জলস্তরের হালহকিকত জানতে আধুনিক প্রযুক্তির সাহায্য নিচ্ছে রাজ্যের সেচ দপ্তর। এখন কাজ হয় মনুষ্যচালিত ব্যবস্থায়। এ বার স্বয়ংক্রিয় পদ্ধতি চালু করছে ওই দপ্তর।

কী ভাবে তথ্য দেবে নতুন প্রযুক্তি? এই ব্যবস্থায় উপগ্রহ-চিত্র, সিসিটিভি, সেন্সর সিস্টেম, রেডিও ফ্রিকোয়েন্সির মাধ্যমে বিভিন্ন নদীতে জলপ্রবাহের গতিপ্রকৃতি, ব্যারাজে জল ওঠানামার ছবি ও তথ্য উঠে আসবে কন্ট্রোল রুমের জায়ান্ট স্ক্রিনে। পড়শি রাজ্য কোনও বাঁধ থেকে জল ছাড়লে কোন নদ বা নদীর জলস্তর কতটা বাড়ছে, কোথায় লাল, কোথায় হলুদ সঙ্কেত দেওয়া হয়েছে— তা-ও দেখা যাবে ওই জায়ান্ট স্ক্রিনে। আবার নদীর পাড় কোথায় কতটা ভাঙছে, সেই ছবিও দেখা যাবে কন্ট্রোল রুমে বসে।

মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের নির্দেশে আধুনিক প্রযুক্তিকে কাজে লাগিয়ে সব ব্যারাজ ও বাঁধ সংস্কারের কাজ শুরু হয়েছে, বলেন সেচমন্ত্রী। স্বয়ংক্রিয় ব্যবস্থা চালু করার জন্য প্রথম পর্যায়ে প্রায় ৩৫ বছরের পুরনো তিস্তা ব্যারাজে কাজ শুরু হয়েছে। এ বার তিস্তার পাশাপাশি দুর্গাপুর ও তিলপাড়া ব্যারাজ এবং কংসাবতী, তিলপাড়া বাঁধেও পর্যায়ক্রমে নতুন প্রযুক্তির মাধ্যমে যথাসময়ে যাবতীয় তথ্য সংগ্রহের বন্দোবস্ত হচ্ছে।

The state Irrigation and Waterways department has initiated taking all necessary steps to ensure supply of water till the “tail end” of Purulia district for cultivation of crops. The state Irrigation department has decided to bring in 35,000 acre of agricultural land in Purulia, which is a drought-prone district, under the irrigation project.

In a bid to make this huge challenge of providing water to this drought-prone district a reality, the state Irrigation and Waterways department has decided to carry out different projects worth Rs 30 crore this year. It includes the crucial task of restoration of canals. At the same time, the embankments of different canals will also be repaired.

It may be mentioned that once Purulia used to suffer immensely as agriculture was almost impossible due to lack of water. The scenario has changed a lot with several steps being taken in the past five-and-a-half years after the change of guard took place in the state. Now, the present government is aiming supply of water to each and every part of the district.

The Irrigation and Waterways department has already created 89 check dams only in Bankura and the work to construct another eight is going on in full swing.  It may be mentioned that the state government has brought in more 3 lakh acre of agricultural land under the irrigation programme in the current fiscal and as a result there was no shortage of water either for Rabi or Boro crops. Moreover, one lakh out of the three lakh acre comes under Jangalmahal area.

 

রাজ্যের প্রত্যন্ত অঞ্চলেও জল সরবরাহ করার উদ্যোগ নিল রাজ্য সরকার

পুরুলিয়া জেলার মত প্রত্যন্ত অঞ্চলেও যাতে পর্যাপ্ত জলের জোগান দিয়ে চাষবাস করা যায়, তার জন্য প্রয়োজনীয় সব পদক্ষেপ নিয়েছে রাজ্যের সেচ ও জলপথ দপ্তর। পুরুলিয়া জেলার ৩৫,০০০ একর চাষের জমিকে এই সেচ প্রকল্পের আওতায় আনার সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছে ওই দপ্তর।

পুরুলিয়ার মত খরা প্রবণ অঞ্চলে জল পৌঁছে দেওয়া খুব কঠিন কাজ। তাই, সেচ ও জলপথ দপ্তর ৩০ কোটি টাকা ব্যায়ে বিভিন্ন প্রকল্প গ্রহণ করেছে, খাল সংস্কার, খালগুলির বাঁধ মেরামত করা, ইত্যাদি।

উল্লেক্ষ্য, সাড়ে পাঁচ বছর আগে জলের অভাবের জন্য পুরুলিয়ায় চাষবাস ছিল প্রায় অসম্ভব। কিন্তু ২০১১ সালে পরিবর্তনের পর রাজ্য সরকার নানা উদ্যোগ নিয়েছে। সেচ ও জলপথ দপ্তর শুধু বাঁকুড়া জেলাতেই ৮৯ টি চেক ড্যাম তৈরি করেছে; আরও ৮ টি তৈরীর কাজ জোর কদমে চলছে।

রাজ্য সরকার চলতি আর্থিক বর্ষে ৩ লক্ষ একর জমিকে সেচ প্রকল্পের আওতায় নিয়ে এসেছে। এর ফলে রবি ও বোরো চাষের জন্য জলের অভাব হবে না। এই তিন লক্ষ একর জমির মধ্যে এক লক্ষ একর জমি জঙ্গলমহলে।

The Bengal government has brought in an additional three lakh acre of agricultural land under its irrigation programme, with the objective of helping farmers for better cultivation at a time when they are facing hardships due to demonetisation of high value notes.

The state Irrigation minister said: “Around 12.43 lakh acre of land has been brought under the irrigation project and there will be no shortage of water supply for cultivation of Rabi and Boro crops. In the current fiscal, three lakh acres more has been brought under the irrigation programme.”

Interestingly, a lakh of the newly-acquired three lakh acre is in the Jangalmahal area. This is the highest in the decade that 12.43 lakh acre land has been brought under the irrigation project.

The Minister said that farmers are facing troubles due to demonetisation. Keeping the situation in mind, the step has been taken so that they do not have to worry about the requisite quantity of water for cultivation. He further said that the World Bank has given its clearance for the project where the state government would carry out de-siltation of Lower Damodar river and its channels. Once completed, flood in parts of Howrah, Hooghly, Bankura and Burdwan districts will become a thing of the past.

He also criticised the Centre, saying that it is reducing its share of funds for different projects in the state. Earlier, the Centre-state expenditure ratio for a project used to be 75:25, respectively. But now, the state has to bear 50 percent of the project costs and in some cases the state provides 75 percent of the project cost, while the Centre gives only 25 per cent.

 

 

আরও তিন লক্ষ একর জমি সেচ প্রকল্পে যুক্ত করলো রাজ্য

 

নোটবাতিলের ফলে ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত চাষিদের সাহায্য করতে উদ্যোগী হল রাজ্য সরকার। রাজ্য সরকার আরও তিন লক্ষ একর চাষের জমিকে সেচের আওতায় আনার উদ্যোগ নিয়েছে। উল্লেখযোগ্য, এই তিন লক্ষ একর জমির মধ্যে এক লক্ষ একর জমিই জঙ্গলমহলে।

রাজ্যের সেচমন্ত্রী বলেন, “আনুমানিক ১২.৪৩ লক্ষ একর জমিকে সেচের আওতায় আনা হয়েছে। রবি ও বোরো শস্যের চাষের সময় কোনও ধরণের জলের ঘাটতি হবে না। চলতি অর্থবর্ষে তিন লক্ষ একর চাষের জমিকে সেচের আওতায় আনা হয়েছে।”

তিনি আরও বলেন, কৃষকরা নোটবাতিলের ফলে ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত। এই পদক্ষেপ নেওয়া হয়েছে যাতে কৃষকদের পর্যাপ্ত পরিমাণে জল পাওয়ার জন্য দুশ্চিন্তা করতে না হয়।

মন্ত্রী আরও বলেন, বিশ্ব ব্যাঙ্ক ইতিমধ্যেই দামোদর নদীর ডি-সিল্টেশন প্রকল্প অনুমোদন করেছে। এই প্রকল্পটি বাস্তবায়িত হলে বাঁকুড়া, বর্ধমান, হাওড়া ও হুগলী জেলায় বন্যার সমস্যা কমবে।

কেন্দ্রের কড়া সমালোচনাও করেন সেচমন্ত্রী। এতদিন কোনও প্রকল্পের ৭৫ শতাংশ খরচ বহন করত কেন্দ্র, বাকিটা দিত রাজ্য। কিন্তু বর্তমানে রাজ্য সরকারকে ৫০ শতাংশ খরচ, এমনকি কোনও কোনও প্রকল্পে ৭৫ শতাংশও, বহন করতে হচ্ছে।

The banks of Bagjola canal, located near the upcoming international convention centre at New Town, is set for a facelift, complete with a floating market in the waters.

This is part of the beautification plan that the Housing Infrastructure Development Corporation (HIDCO), along with the irrigation department, has taken up for the 2 km stretch along the canal. The irrigation department will carry out a survey to look into the quality of the water and ways to improve it.

HIDCO authorities will take help of an architect from the Indian Institute of Architects implement the project, which is likely to include landscaping, flower gardens, walkways and places to sit down and take in the view. Suggested by the CM, the authorities will look into the possibility of starting a market, where merchandise will be sold on boats, like those in Srinagar, Thailand and Indonesia.

বাগজোলা খাল সংস্কারের উদ্যোগ, চালু হবে ভাসমান বাজারও

নিউ টাউনের কনভেশন সেন্টারের কাছাকাছি বাগজোলা খালের পাড় সংস্করণ করা হবে এবং এখানে চালু হবে ভাসমান বাজার।

শহরের সৌন্দর্যায়নের জন্য ২ কিলোমিটার বিস্তৃত এই খালের ওপর হিডকো এবং কৃষি দপ্তরের যৌথ উদ্যোগে এই পরিকল্পনা গ্রহণ করা হয়েছে। জলের মান পরীক্ষা করার জন্য এবং কিভাবে  সমগ্র প্রক্রিয়াটিকে আরও উন্নত করা যায় সেজন্য কৃষি দপ্তর একটি সমীক্ষা করবে।

এই প্রকল্পের নকশা তৈরির জন্য ইন্ডিয়ান ইন্সটিটিউট অফ আর্কিটেক্টের একজন স্থপতির সাহায্য নেবে হিডকো। নকশার মধ্যে থাকবে ফুলের বাগান, সাধারণ মানুষের হাঁটার ও বসার জন্য নির্দিষ্ট জায়গা। মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর প্রস্তাব অনুযায়ী শ্রীনগর, থাইল্যান্ড ও ইন্দোনেশিয়ার মতো নৌকার ওপর ভাসমান বাজার চালু করবে কর্তৃপক্ষ। নৌকাগুলিতে নিত্যপ্রয়োজনীয় ও সাংসারিক প্রয়োজনীয় সমস্ত পণ্য বিক্রি করবেন বিক্রেতারা।

She may be away but her heart is in Bengal. In the midst of her busy schedule at Munich in Germany to showcase Bengal as an investment destination, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee did not forget her responsibility in managing coordination with her cabinet colleagues in Kolkata in view of the flood threat in the state in the backdrop of heavy rain in the last 24 hours.

The Chief Minister called up State irrigation minister Rajib Banerjee on Tuesday morning from Munich and instructed him to interact with Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) authorities to prevent excessive water release from DVC dams in the state that might worsen the situation.

Within minutes of the Chief Minister’s call from Munich the entire state secretariat of Nabanna got transformed into a virtual war room. The Minister instructed officials of his department to ensure constant watch on the river embankments round the clock till the time the flood threat is completely averted.

“The situation is not that alarming yet. But we are maintaining constant vigil. Now, everything will depend on how far DVC cooperates by showing restraint about water release,” the Minister said.

Besides the state irrigation department, the state disaster management department was also kept on high alert. Department officials were instructed to ensure that different rescue teams be ready for emergency. Relief items like tarpaulin, dry food and medicines have been kept ready in adequate amount, confirmed an officer of the state disaster management department. Leave for the staff and officers of both the state irrigation and disaster management departments have been cancelled till further orders.

 

জার্মানিতে বসেও বাংলার বন্যার খবর নিলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী

সশরীরে উপস্থিত না থাকলেও তাঁর মন সারাক্ষণ বাংলাতেই পড়ে থাকে, তিনি মাননীয়া মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। জার্মানির মিউনিখে শিল্প সম্মেলনে ব্যস্ত কর্মসূচীর মধ্যেও তিনি তাঁর দাওিত্ব ভুলে যাননি। প্রতিনিয়ত তিনি গত ২৪ ঘণ্টায় বৃষ্টি ও বন্যা সংক্রান্ত সব রকম পরিস্থিতির ওপর নজর রেখেছেন এবং কলকাতার মন্ত্রীসভার সব মন্ত্রীদের সঙ্গে নিয়মিত যোগাযোগ রেখে সব খোঁজ-খবর নিচ্ছেন ও প্রয়োজনীয় ব্যবস্থা গ্রহণ করার নির্দেশ দিচ্ছেন।

মঙ্গলবার সকালে মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মিউনিখ থেকে রাজ্যের সেচমন্ত্রী রাজীব বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়কে ফোন করেন এবং দামোদর ভ্যালি কর্পোরেশন (ডিভিসির) কর্তৃপক্ষের সঙ্গে কথা বলার নির্দেশ দেন।

মিউনিখ থেকে মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর ফোন আসার কিছু সময়ের মধ্যেই জেলা শাসক ও বিভিন্ন বিভাগের কর্মকর্তাদের বন্যা সংক্রান্ত সবরকম ব্যবস্থা নেওয়ার নির্দেশ দেন।

মন্ত্রী বলেন, “পরিস্থিতি এখনোও তেমন ভয়ংকর নয়। কিন্তু আমরা প্রতিনিয়ত সতর্ক থাকছি।  ডিভিসি কতটা জল ছাড়ছে তাঁর ওপর পরিস্থিতি নির্ভর করছে”।

রাজ্যের সেচ বিভাগের পাশাপাশি, রাজ্যের দুর্যোগ ব্যবস্থাপনা বিভাগও উচ্চ সতর্ক ব্যবস্থায় বজায় রাখছে। বিভাগের কর্মকর্তারা বিভিন্ন উদ্ধারকারী দলগুলিকে সবরকম জরুরী অবস্থার জন্য প্রস্তুত থাকতে নির্দেশ দিয়েছে। পর্যাপ্ত পরিমানে ত্রিপল, শুকনো খাবার ও ওষুধ প্রস্তুত রাখা হয়েছে।

An app, which will promptly give the flood updates of the state, is set to take the state’s flood management system to a new high. The state irrigation and waterways department has developed the smart phone application and it is all set to be inaugurated.

Earlier, the department had developed a system – Soft Requirement Specification (SRS) which enables the administration to instantly take a stock of flood situations in districts on a real time basis. The system, which has been incorporated in the department’s website, is now transferred to a mobile app.

With the use of new app, the dissemination of flood related information will be easier. It will just take some minutes of update the flood information from the spot.

উচ্চ পর্যায়ের বন্যা ম্যানেজমেন্ট সিস্টেম তৈরি করার জন্য একটি অ্যাপ্লিকেশন চালু করছে পশ্চিমবঙ্গ রাজ্য সরকার, যা অবিলম্বে রাজ্যের সব জায়গার বন্যা সংক্রান্ত সব আপডেট দেবে। রাজ্য সেচ ও জলপথ বিভাগ এই স্মার্ট ফোন অ্যাপ্লিকেশন চালু করতে চলেছে এবং এটি শীঘ্রই উদ্বোধন করা হবে।

আগেও এই দপ্তর একটি প্রক্রিয়া তৈরি করেছিল – সেটি হল SRS (Soft Requirement Specification)। এর মাধ্যমে অবিলম্বে বন্যা পরিস্থিতি সম্পর্কিত সব তথ্য পাওয়া যেত। এই প্রক্রিয়াটি দপ্তরের ওয়েবসাইটে আগেই সংযোজিত ছিল, বর্তমানে সেটিকেই অ্যাপে পরিবর্তন করা হল।

এই অ্যাপের মাধ্যমে এখন বন্যা সংক্রান্ত সব রকম তথ্য খুব সহজেই পাওয়া যাবে। নির্দিষ্ট এলাকা থেকে খুব সহজেই কিছু মিনিটের মধ্যেই মানুষের কাছে আপডেট পৌঁছে যাবে।

The huge success of the State Irrigation Department during the last four years under the Trinamool Congress led government has been lauded by the Centre.

The Central authorities had to admit that the works done by the State Irrigation department under the Command Area Development (CAD) programme are beautiful masterpieces. The Union Minister said the volume of work done in the last three years was more than that done in the last 30 years.

The Central authorities said that the success story of the State Irrigation department under the CAD programme will be put up as a model for other States and they will be asked to follow it.

The Central authorities were also pleased to see the works done under the Ghatal Master Plan.

On the areas where riverbank erosion was growing, the Union Minister promised that it would help the State in reducing riverbank erosion from Farakka to Mohana.

“Last time we had taken the Central authorities to areas in Farakka where erosion was taking place. Today we showed them those places, which are eating up land every day. The Central authorities were quite concerned and have promised all help to check riverbank erosion,” State Irrigation minister Rajib Banerjee.

Mr Banerjee took the visiting Union Minister on a boat ride on the Hooghly River for an inspection of areas where heavy erosion was reported.
