The State Urban Development and Municipal Affairs Department has done a commendable job under the Trinamool Congress-run administration. Over the last seven years, it has set up eight development authorities and carried out a lot of work on township beautification.

The primary achievements are as follows:

New development authorities: For the upgrading of existing infrastructure and creation of new tourist attractions in planned manner, eight development authorities have been constituted. They are:

  • Gangasagar Bakkhali Development Authority (in 2013),
  • Furfurah Sharif Development Authority (in 2015),
  • Tarapith Rampurhat Development Authority (in 2015),
  • Bakreswar Development Authority (in 2016),
  • Patharchapuri Development Authority (in 2016),
  • Mukutmanipur Development Authority (in 2017),
  • Changrabandha Development Authority (2017) and
  • Tarakeswar Development Authority (2017).

Area extension work has been done for Gangasagar Bakkhali Development Authority, Haldia Development Authority, Tarapith Rampurhat Development Authority and New Town Kolkata Development Authority.

Green City Mission: It was launched in 2016 for all cities of the State to make them future-proof, talent-friendly and investment-oriented by adopting sustainable, environment-friendly, liveable, energy-positive (adoption of solar energy) and information technology-friendly programmes. A total of 2,596 projects with a total project cost of Rs 1,290 crore have been launched.

Gitabitan: This new township dedicated to art, culture and design is being developed in Bolpur in Birbhum district under the Sriniketan Santiniketan Development Authority.

Floating market at Patuli: For rehabilitating shopkeepers who had to move away because of the widening of the EM Bypass, a unique floating market was created at a waterbody in Patuli near Garia, Kolkata. It has become immensely popular, both among locals and visitors.

Tele Academy and Correctional Home: A Tele Academy (academy for imparting training on various aspects of the television industry) and a state-of-the-art correctional home are being constructed in Baruipur.

Eco Tourism Park: Also known as Prakriti Tirtha, this beautiful park was set up on 480 acres of land around a 112-acre waterbody, alongside Biswa Banga Sarani in New Town. It has now become one of the biggest tourist attractions of Bangla.

Other constructions in Newtown: Other important constructions in New Town, one of the green cities and now considered a model city in the country, are Rabindra Tirtha, Nazrul Tirtha, Mother’s Wax Museum, Kolkata International (Biswa Bangla) Convention Centre and the Financial Hub.

Bicycles: A dock-less, GPS-enabled bicycle sharing service has been started in New Town.

Developments in Digha: A huge illuminated Welcome Gate was constructed in Digha to welcome visitors. The gate is beautifully designed and is lit up beautifully too, and it has become a popular spot for photography. A convention centre is under construction as well as a Hawkers’ Rehabilitation Centre, beachfront beauti­fication in front of Saikatabas and other places, a central bus stand, Digha Mohana Road, bituminous road to Sankarpur and Tajpur, and from Digha Gate to Mandarmoni, and Biswa Bangla Uddyan.

Developments in Mukutmanipur: The area under Mukutmanipur Development Authority has been declared a tobacco-free and plastic-free zone. The authority has adopted the motto, ‘Green and clean Mukutmanipur’. Open consumption of both tobacco and alcohol has been banned here, along with a ban on use of plastic.

Developments in Tarakeswar: Three electrical high masts have been put up by Tarakeswar Panchayat Samity. The Tarakeswar Municipality has put up 13 electrical high masts, trident lamp posts with LED Lamps and 300 nine-metre electrical poles with LED lights.

Hospitals: Beautification and frontage development of 23 district hospitals have been completed and work has been initiated for another 13 district, sub-divisional and State General Hospitals.

Parks: Development of more than 406 parks has been completed and that of another 391 are in the works as part of a green space development programme.

Crematorium: In the Medinipur-Kharagpur planning area, an electric crematorium has been constructed to prevent pollution generated by burning of wood in funeral pyres.

New bus routes in Jangalmahal

To make the public transport system in Jangalmahal more robust, the State Transport Department has decided to introduce new bus routes in the region. This was announced by the Transport Minister in the Assembly on July 25.

From August, 15 new routes will come into existence, on which 22 buses will ply.

New routes are also being introduced in the districts of Murshidabad and Nadia. Besides, shuttle night bus services will be introduced in Durgapur, Haldia, Kharagpur, and from New Jalpaiguri to Siliguri and Siliguri to Jalpaiguri. This comes after the success of the night bus service in Kolkata and its suburbs.

Some other crucial information the minister gave were that currently, around 3,200 State-run buses, equipped with modern facilities like GPS system and panic button, ply across Bengal, the number of air-conditioned buses has been increased, and that the Government was giving stress environment-friendly modes like electric buses and CNG buses.

Bengal’s lightning detection system helping common people

The lightning detection system put up under the initiative of the State Disaster Management and Civil Defence Department has been a saviour of sorts in many districts across Bengal. The state-of-the-art system was introduced on February 1 this year, using which lightning can be predicted and information, with specific location, disseminated. An American company had put the system in place.

Devices like sensors have been installed at places including Siliguri, Cooch Behar, Raiganj, Jangipur (in Murshidabad district), Haldia, Kolkata and Kharagpur.

The system generates an SMS alerting people at least 45 minutes before a lightning strike. The alert messages contain names and location of the blocks where lightning would strike.

Officials up to the level of block development officer (BDO) and members of panchayats receive the alerts. They then disseminate the information amongst the locals within a short span of time and people take precautions as prescribed.

District Magistrates also receive alerts and can coordinate with the concerned officials in this connection and it helps in taking prompt action and saving more lives.

According to a senior official of the Disaster Management Department, this is the first time that such a system is being used, and helpfully, at a time when lightning strikes have gone up drastically.

Usually, heavy lightning occurs from mid-April till the end of monsoon. The system has proven fruitful as the officials are receiving good feedback as to how it is helping people to move to a safer place after getting the alert that lightning might strike.

The system is helping generate alarm among people even in the furthest corners of the State and so people are getting time to move to a safer place before lightning strikes.

পূর্ব মেদিনীপুর জেলার উন্নয়ন – এক নজরে

রাজ্য ও অন্যান্য জেলার সঙ্গে তাল মিলিয়ে অভূতপূর্ব উন্নয়ন ঘটেছে পূর্ব মেদিনীপুর জেলায়।

স্বাস্থ্য ও পরিবার কল্যাণঃ

  • এই জেলার নন্দীগ্রাম, পাশকুঁড়া ও এগরায় গড়ে উঠেছে ৩টি মাল্টি সুপার স্পেশালিটি হাসপাতাল।
  • পূর্ব মেদিনীপুর জেলা হাসপাতাল, কাঁথী, হলদিয়া ও দীঘা মহকুমা হাসপাতালে ৫টি ন্যায্য মূল্যের ওষুধের দোকান চালু হয়ে গেছে। জেলার এই সকল ন্যায্য মূল্যের ওষুধের দোকান থেকে ওষুধ কেনার ফলে ৯ লক্ষ ৩১ হাজারেরও বেশি মানুষ ২০ কোটি ৯০ লক্ষ টাকারও বেশি ছাড় পেয়েছে। তমলুক জেলা হাসপাতালে ২টি ন্যায্য মূল্যের ডায়াগনস্টিক পরিষেবা চালু হয়ে গেছে।
  • এই জেলায় ২০টি SNSU চালু হয়ে গেছে (দীঘা, হলদিয়া, মুগবেড়িয়া, গোনেরা, জানুবাসান, নন্দীগ্রাম, ময়না, বারারানকুয়া, রিয়াপাড়া, অনন্তপুর, বাসুলীয়া, সীন্নাবেড়িয়া, উত্তর মেছোগ্রাম, বাসন্তিয়া, ভগবানপুর, কামারদা, গঙ্গাধরপুর, খেজুরবেড়িয়া, এরাশাল ও পাইকপারি)।
  • তমলুক ও এগরা হাসপাতালে ২টি SNCU চালু হয়ে গেছে।
  • তমলুক, কাঁথী, হলদিয়া, নন্দীগ্রাম, এগরা ও দীঘা হাসপাতালে ৬টি CCU/HDU চালু হয়ে গেছে।
  • কাঁথী মহকুমা হাসপাতালকে ২০০ থেকে ৩০০ শয্যায় সম্প্রসারিত করা হচ্ছে।
  • ‘স্বাস্থ্যসাথী’ প্রকল্পে এই জেলায় প্রায় ১ লক্ষ ৯৩ হাজারেরও বেশি মানুষ নথিভুক্ত হয়েছেন।
  • ‘শিশুসাথী’ প্রকল্পে, এই জেলার ৫২৩টিরও/ হাজারেরও বেশি বাচ্চার সফল অস্ত্রোপচার করা হয়েছে।

 

শিক্ষাঃ

  • এই জেলার, তমলুক শহীদ মাতঙ্গিনী হাজরা মহিলা কলেজ, স্বর্ণময়ী জোগেন্দ্রনাথ কলেজ এবং শ্যামসুন্দরপুরে ৩টি নতুন সরকারী কলেজ গড়ে তোলা হচ্ছে।
  • দেশপ্রাণ (কাঁথী-২), নন্দীগ্রাম ও এগরায় ৩টি নতুন আই টি আই কলেজ নির্মাণ করা হয়েছে।
  • কোলাঘাটে একটি নতুন পলিটেকনিক কলেজ গড়ে তোলা হয়েছে।
  • ‘উৎকর্ষ বাংলা’ কর্মসূচিতে জেলার ৮২ হাজারেরও বেশি যুবক-যুবতীকে প্রশিক্ষণ দেওয়া হয়েছে।
  • এই জেলায়, ৩ লক্ষ ২৮ হাজারেরও বেশি ছাত্র ছাত্রীকে ‘সবুজসাথী’ প্রকল্পে সাইকেল প্রদান করা হয়েছে।
  • জেলায়, গত সাড়ে ৬ বছরে, প্রায় ১৭০টি মাধ্যমিক বিদ্যালয়কে উচ্চ মাধ্যমিক বিদ্যালয় স্তরে উন্নীত করা হয়েছে।
  • সব স্কুল মিড-ডে-মিল চলছে, যার ফলে পুষ্টি এবং উপস্থিতির হার বেড়েছে এবং স্কুল-ছুট ছাত্র-ছাত্রীর সংখ্যা কমেছে।
  • প্রতিটি বিদ্যালয়ে ছেলে ও মেয়েদের জন্য পৃথক শৌচাগার নির্মিত হয়েছে।

 

ভূমি সংস্কার, কৃষি ও পশুপালনঃ

  • জেলার ৯ হাজারেরও বেশি যোগ্য ভূমিহীন পরিবারের হাতে ‘নিজ গৃহ নিজ ভূমি’ প্রকল্পে পাট্টা তুলে দেওয়া হয়েছে। এছাড়া ৪ হাজারেরও বেশি কৃষি ও বনাধিকার পাট্টা প্রদান করা হয়েছে।
  • এই জেলার, প্রায় ৯৫% কৃষক পরিবারকে কিষাণ ক্রেডিট কার্ডের আওতাভুক্ত করা হয়েছে। বাকিদেরও খুব দ্রুত কিষাণ ক্রেডিট কার্ড প্রদান করা হচ্ছে।
  • এই জেলার পাঁশকুড়া-১, ভগবানপুর-২, পটাশপুর-১, দেশপ্রাণ (কাঁথী-২), এগরা-১ ও নন্দীগ্রামে ৬টি ‘কিষাণ মান্ডি’ গড়ে তোলা হয়েছে।
  • জেলায় প্রাণী সম্পদ উন্নয়ন দপ্তর, ২৪ লক্ষ ৫৮ হাজারেরও বেশি হাঁস ও মুরগীড় বাচ্চা বিতরণ করেছে।

 

পঞ্চায়েত ও গ্রামোন্নয়নঃ

  • এই জেলায় ১০০-দিনের কাজে, ২২২০ কোটি টাকারও বেশি ব্যয় করে প্রায় ৯ কোটি ৪ লক্ষ শ্রম দিবস সৃষ্টি হয়েছে।
  • জেলার প্রায় ১ লক্ষ ৪১ হাজার মানুষ গ্রামীণ আবাস যোজনায় উপকৃত হয়েছেন।
  • এই জেলার আরও প্রায় ২৬ হাজার ৭৬৫ জন উপভোক্তাকে বাড়ি তৈরির সহায়তা দেওয়া হয়েছে।
  • জেলায় গ্রামীণ সড়ক যোজনায় প্রায় ৭০০ কিমি রাস্তা নির্মিত হয়েছে।
  • এই জেলায় আরও প্রায় ৩৯৫ কিমি রাস্তা নির্মাণ/সংস্কারের সূচনা করা হয়েছে।
  • ‘সমব্যাথী’ প্রকল্পে জেলার প্রায় ৪ হাজার ২৬৭ জন উপকৃত হয়েছেন।
  • পূর্ব মেদিনীপুর ‘নির্মল জেলা’। জেলায় ‘মিশন নির্মল বাংলা’ প্রকল্পে প্রায় ২ লক্ষ ১৬ হাজার শৌচালয় নির্মাণ করা হয়েছে – যা লক্ষ্যমাত্রার ১০০%।

 

সংখ্যালঘু উন্নয়নঃ

  • বিগত সাড়ে ৬ বছরে, এই জেলার প্রায় ৪ লক্ষ ১২ হাজার সংখ্যালঘু ছাত্রছাত্রীকে প্রায় ১০০ কোটি টাকা স্কলারশিপ দেওয়া হয়েছে।
  • এছাড়া, স্বনির্ভরতার জন্য সংখ্যালঘু যুবক-যুবতীদের, প্রায় ৩২ কোটি টাকা ঋণ দেওয়া হয়েছে।
  • MSDP তে প্রায় ৬ কোটি টাকা ব্যয় করে সংখ্যালঘু সম্প্রদায়ের উন্নয়নে বিভিন্ন প্রকল্প রূপায়িত করা হয়েছে।
  • এই প্রকল্পে, জেলায় ৩০টির ও বেশি হেলথ সাব সেন্টার, অতিরিক্ত শ্রেণী কক্ষ।অঙ্গনওয়াড়ী কেন্দ্র, বাসগৃহ ইত্যাদি গড়ে তোলা হয়েছে
  • এই জেলার এগরা-২, পাঁশকুড়া-১, পাঁশকুড়া-২, পটাশপুর-২(২টি), সুতাহাটা-১, রামনগর-১ (২টি), কাঁথী-৩, নন্দীগ্রাম-১, খেজুরী-২, শহীদ মাতঙ্গিনী, তমলুক ও ময়নায় ১৪টি ‘কর্মতীর্থ’ গড়ে তোলা হয়েছে।

 

অনগ্রসর কল্যাণ ও আদিবাসী উন্নয়নঃ

  • বিগত সাড়ে ৬ বছরে, ১ লক্ষ ৪০ হাজারেরও বেশি ছাত্র-ছাত্রী ‘শিক্ষাশ্রী’ প্রকল্পে সহায়তা পেয়েছে।
  • জেলায় বিগত সাড়ে ৬ বছরে, ২ লক্ষ ১৬ হাজারেরও বেশি SC/ST/OBC Certificate প্রদান করা হয়েছে।

 

নারী ও শিশু উন্নয়ন এবং সমাজকল্যাণঃ

  • এই জেলায়, ২ লক্ষ ৮৪ হাজারেরও বেশি ছাত্রী ‘কন্যাশ্রী’র আওতায় এসেছে।

 

খাদ্য সুরক্ষা কর্মসূচী – ‘খাদ্য সাথী’ প্রকল্পঃ

  • এই জেলার ১০০% যোগ্য মানুষকে (প্রায় ৫১ লক্ষ ৭১ হাজারেরও বেশি মানুষকে), ২/- টাকা কেজি দরে (অথবা বাজার দরের অর্ধেক দামে) খাদ্যশস্য দেওয়া হচ্ছে – যা জেলার মোট জনসংখ্যা প্রায় ১০০%।

 

শিল্পঃ

  • হলদিয়ায় ১টি ইন্ডাস্ট্রিয়াল পার্ক তৈরি করা হয়েছে।
  • জেলায় ক্ষুদ্র, ছোট ও মাঝারি উদ্যোগের ২৭টি ক্লাস্টার গড়ে উঠেছে।
  • কাঁথীতে একটি কাজু বাদামের ক্লাস্টার, তমলুক, হলদিয়া, মেছেদা, পাঁশকুড়া, কাঁথী, ময়না, এগরায় ও দাইসাইয়ে ৮টি স্টিলের আসবাব তৈরির ক্লাস্টার, বাঁসুলীয়ায় একটি জামাকাপড় তৈরির ক্লাস্টার প্রভৃতি।
  • শিল্প ও পর্যটনের বিকাশে গড়ে তোলা হচ্ছে দীঘায় একটি কনভেনশন সেন্টার।
  • হলদিয়ায় গড়ে তোলা হয়েছে আইটি হাব ও ইন্ডাস্ট্রিয়াল এস্টেট।
  • ক্ষুদ্র শিল্পের ক্ষেত্রে এই জেলায় ৬৯৭ কোটি টাকারও বেশি ব্যাঙ্ক ঋণ প্রদান করা হয়েছে।

 

পূর্ত ও পরিবহনঃ

  • বিগত সাড়ে ৬ বছরে, এই জেলায় পূর্ত দপ্তর ১১০টিরও বেশি রাস্তাঘাট, ব্রিজ ইত্যাদি রুপায়নের কাজ হাতে নিয়েছে, যার মধ্যে ৮৫টিরও বেশি প্রকল্পের কাজ ৫৭০ কোটি টাকা ব্যয় ইতিমধ্যেই সমাপ্ত হয়েছে/ এর ফলে প্রচুর মানুষ উপকৃত হচ্ছেন। বাকি প্রকল্পের কাজ খুব শীঘ্রই সমাপ্ত হবে।
  • জেলার সড়ক ব্যবস্থা উন্নয়নে বিশেষ গুরুত্ব দেওয়া হয়েছে। জেলায় বিগত সাড়ে ৬ বছরে প্রায় ৬৫০ কিমি রাস্তা নির্মাণ/পুনর্নির্মাণ/সম্প্রসারণ ও উন্নীতকরণের কাজ সম্পন্ন হয়েছে। এর মধ্যে উল্লেখযোগ্য হলঃ পাঁশকুড়া-দুর্গাচক রাস্তা,দক্ষিণ শিতলা দাদনপাত্রবার-মান্দারমনি রাস্তা প্রভৃতি।
  • ‘বৈতরিনী’ প্রকল্পে ৩৩টি শ্মশান ঘাটের উন্নয়ন সহ ১টি বিদ্যুতের চুরি বসানোর কাজ চলছে।
  • এই জেলার প্রায় ২৭০ জন যুবক-যুবতী গাড়ি কেনার ঋণ পেয়ে আত্মনির্ভর হয়েছেন।
    হাতে নেওয়া হয়েছে Safe Drive Save Life এবং Slow Drive Save Life কর্মসূচী। ফলে, উল্লেখযোগ্য ভাবে কমেছে দুর্ঘটনা এবং হতাহতের সংখ্যা।

 

বিদ্যুৎ ও অচিরাচরিত শক্তিঃ

  • সমগ্র জেলায় ‘সবার ঘরে আলো’ প্রকল্পে, ১০০% গ্রামীণ বৈদ্যুতিকরনের কাজ সম্পন্ন হয়েছে।
  • হলদিয়ায় Indian Power Corporation (Haldia) LIMITED-এর একটি নতুন ৩ ১৫০ মেগা ওয়াট তাপবিদ্যুৎ কেন্দ্র গড়ে তোলা হয়েছে।

 

সেচঃ

  • জেলায় প্রায় ৩৩০ কিমি দৈর্ঘ্যের বাঁধ সংরক্ষণের কাজ সম্পন্ন হয়েছে।
  • প্রায় ৬৫০ কোটি টাকা ব্যয়ে কেলেঘাই-কপালেশ্বরী-বাগাই খাল সংস্কারের কাজ চলছে।
  • এই প্রকল্পে, পূর্ব মেদিনীপুর, পশ্চিম মেদিনীপুর ও ঝাড়গ্রাম জেলার ১৪টি ব্লকের প্রায় ৪ লক্ষ মানুষ উপকৃত হবেন।
  • পাঁশকুড়া-১ ও পাঁশকুড়া-২ ব্লক সহ পশ্চিম মেদিনীপুর জেলার ঘাটাল এলাকার বন্যা নিয়ন্ত্রণের জন্য প্রায় ২ হাজার কোটি টাকার ‘ঘাটাল মাস্টার প্ল্যান’ তৈরি হয়েছে। এটি রূপায়িত হলে এই বিস্তীর্ণ অঞ্চলের প্রায় ১৭ লক্ষ মানুষ প্রতি বছর বন্যার সমস্যা থেকে মুক্তি পাবেন।
  • ময়না ব্লকের চণ্ডিকা নদীর উপরে এজমালিচক ও শ্রীরামপুরে ২টি সেতু নির্মাণ করা হয়েছে।
  • রসুলপুর ও বোগায় রসুলপুর নদীর ওপর ২টি নতুন জেটি গড়ে তোলা হয়েছে।

 

জনস্বাস্থ্য কারিগরীঃ

  • বিগত সাড়ে ৬ বছরে, ৭০টি জল প্রকল্পের কাজ শুরু হয়েছে, এর মধ্যে প্রায় ২৪০ কোটি টাকা ব্যয়ে ৫৫টির কাজ সমাপ্ত হয়েছে। এর ফলে জেলার প্রচুর মানুষ উপকৃত হচ্ছেন।বাকি জল প্রকল্পগুলির কাজ খুব শীঘ্রই সমাপ্ত হবে।

 

বন ও পর্যটনঃ

  • ‘সবুজশ্রী’ প্রকল্পে, ৩৮ হাজারেরও বেশি সদ্যোজাত শিশুকে মূল্যবান গাছের চারা দেওয়া হয়েছে। ১৮ বছর উত্তীর্ণ হলে, গাছ বিক্রির টাকায় শিশুটির পড়াশোনা, বিয়ে ইত্যাদির খরচ মেটানো যাবে।
  • মাত্র ১৮ মাসের রেকর্ড সময়ে ‘দীঘা গেট’ নির্মাণ করা হয়েছে সাড়ে ৬ কোটি টাকা ব্যয়ে।
  • দীঘায় মেরিন ড্রাইভ গড়ে তোলা হয়েছে।
  • এছাড়া দিঘা, শঙ্করপুর, তাজপুর, মন্দারমনিতে ওয়াচ টাওয়ার, দীঘায় বিশ্ব বাংলা উদ্যান , দীঘা যুব আবাসের সংস্কার, নয়াকালীন মন্দির পর্যন্ত সমুদ্র তীরবর্তী রাস্তা, দীঘা-মোহনা রাস্তা সহ মোট ৯টি প্রকল্পের কাজ সম্পূর্ণ হয়েছে।
  • দীঘায় বিশ্ব বাংলা উদ্যান সম্পূর্ণ করা হয়েছে।
  • তাজপুর শহর ও সৈকতের আলোকায়ন করা হয়েছে।
  • দীঘা-কলকাতা হেলিকপ্টার পরিষেবা সূচনা হয়েছে।

 

শ্রমঃ

  • এই জেলায় সামাজিক সুরক্ষা যোজনায় প্রায় ৯ লক্ষ ৮৬ হাজার অসংগঠিত ক্ষেত্রের শ্রমিক নথিভুক্ত হয়েছেন। এখনো পর্যন্ত প্রায় ১ লক্ষ ২৫ হাজার উপভোক্তা, ৫৭ কোটি টাকার ও বেশি সহায়তা পেয়েছেন।
  • যুবশ্রী প্রকল্পে, এই জেলায় প্রায় ৫ হাজার যুবক-যুবতী উতসাহ ভাতা পাচ্ছেন।

 

স্ব-নির্ভর দল ও স্বনিযুক্তি কর্মসূচীঃ

  • ‘আনন্দধারা’ প্রকল্পে প্রায় ৩৮ হাজার স্ব-নির্ভর দল গঠিত হয়েছে।
  • বিগত সাড়ে ৬ বছরে, ‘স্বামী বিবেকানন্দ স্ব-নির্ভর কর্মসূচী’ প্রকল্পে প্রায় সাড়ে ১১ হাজার উদ্যোগকে অনুমোদন দেওয়া হয়েছে এবং প্রায় ৮৫ কোটি টাকা অনুদান প্রদান করা হয়েছে।

 

পুর ও নগরোন্নয়নঃ

  • জেলায় ৩টি মিউনিসিপ্যালিটি, ১৩০ কোটি টাকারও বেশি পরিকল্পনা খাতে ব্যয় করেছে।
  • শহরাঞ্চলে গরীবদের জন্য বাসস্থান প্রকল্পে, প্রায় ৫ হাজার ৬০০ জন মানুষ উপকৃত হয়েছেন।

 

তথ্য ও সংস্কৃতিঃ

  • এই জেলায় ২৩ হাজারেরও বেশি লোকশিল্পী, ‘লোকপ্রসার প্রকল্পে’ রিটেনার ফি ও পেনশন পাচ্ছেন।

 

আবাসনঃ

  • জেলায় আর্থিকভাবে দুর্বল মানুষদের জন্যে গীতাঞ্জলী ও অন্যান্য প্রকল্পে প্রায় ১৯ হাজার মানুষ উপকৃত হয়েছেন।
  • ভ্রমনার্থীদের সুবিধা এবং স্থানীয় মানুষের কর্মসংস্থানের জন্য নন্দকুমার ও মেছেদায় ২টি ‘পথসাথী’ মোটেল গড়ে তোলা হয়েছে।

 

ক্রীড়া ও যুবকল্যাণঃ

  • ক্রীড়ার মান উন্নয়নে জেলায় ৯৫৫টিরও বেশি ক্লাবকে ৩২ কোটি টাকারও বেশি অর্থ সাহায্য করা হয়েছে।
  • জেলায় প্রায় ৩০০টি মাল্টি জিম ও ৬০টি মিনি ইনডোর স্টেডিয়াম, প্রায় ১৮ কোটি ৫৩ লক্ষ টাকা ব্যয়ে গড়ে তোলা হয়েছে।
  • নন্দকুমারে একটি যুব আবাস গড়ে তোলা হচ্ছে।

 

আইন-শৃঙ্খলাঃ

  • এই জেলায় স্থাপন করা হয়েছে নতুন মন্দারমণি, জুনপুট ও নয়াচর উপকূলীয় থানা এবং কাঁথী ও হলদিয়া মহিলা থানা।

The Bengal Global Business Summit (BGBS) 2018 ended on a positive note with 20 lakh job opportunities in the offing.

The second day has started on a bright note with Adani Group promising to double their investment of Rs 750 crore in the state.

Pranav Adani from the group expressed interest to invest in port, agriculture and power sectors today.

Adani said the money would be pumped in to double the capacity of the edible oil refinery at Haldia from 1,600 tonne per day in the next five years. Packaging would also be expanded from 1,200 tonne to 1,800 tonne.

In power sector, Adani said, they are keen on offering their expertise in transmission and renewable energy.

 

বাংলায় দ্বিগুন বিনিয়োগ করবে আদানি গোষ্ঠী

বিশ্ব বঙ্গ বাণিজ্য সম্মেলনের শেষে ২০ লক্ষ কর্মসংস্থান তৈরী হল রাজ্যে। এমনটাই ঘোষণা করেছেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী।

সম্মেলনের দ্বিতীয় দিনের শুরুতেই আশাপ্রদ খবর নিয়ে এল আদানি গোষ্ঠী। রাজ্যে তাদের বিনিয়োগ (৭৫০ কোটি টাকা) করার কথা জানালেন প্রণব আদানি। বন্দর, কৃষি ও বিদ্যুৎ ক্ষেত্রে বিনিয়োগ করবেন তারা।

হলদিয়ার ভোজ্য তেল শোধনাগারের ক্যাপাসিটি আগামী পাঁচ বছরে দ্বিগুন করতে বিনিয়োগ করা হবে। এখন দৈনিক ১,৬০০ টন ক্যাপাসিটি এই শোধনাগারের। প্যাকেজিংয়ের ক্যাপাসিটিও ১,২০০ টন থেকে ১,৮০০ টন করা হবে।

অচিরাচরিত শক্তি উৎপাদনের ক্ষেত্রেও বিনিয়োগে আগ্রহী আদানি গোষ্ঠী।

Within eight to nine months, Bengalis in the state would be getting to enjoy a new tasty fish: karimeen. This favourite of Kerala is going to be cultivated in Haldia with the help of the Fisheries Department.

The fishes are going to be cultivated by fisherwomen of Haldia block, in Purba Medinipur district. The Fisheries Department has trained about 50 fisherwomen for one-and-a-half months at one of its farms.

Though cultivated in sweet water in Kerala, this fish can also thrive in brackish water. Hence these fishes would be cultivated in farms in the coastal regions of Haldia block.

 

হলদিয়ায় হচ্ছে কারিমীন মাছের চাষ

আগামী শারদ উৎসবে মৎস্য প্রিয় বাঙ্গালিকে উপহার হিসেবে নতুন মাছের স্বাদ দিতে উদ্যোগী হল রাজ্যের মৎস্য দপ্তর।

কেরলের অতি প্রিয় কারিমীন মাছ আগামী ৮/৯ মাসের মধ্যে আট থেকে আশি বছর বয়সের বাঙালির খাবার পাতে জায়গা করে নিতে চলেছে। পূর্ব মেদিনীপুর জেলার হলদিয়া ব্লকের মহিলা মৎস্যজীবীদের হাত ধরে প্রথম বাংলায় আগমন ঘটতে চলেছে এই রাজ্যে।

হলদিয়ার মৎস্য দপ্তরের ফিশারি ফার্মে দেড় মাস ধরে প্রশিক্ষণ দেওয়ার পর ৫০ জন মৎস্যজীবীর হাতে বিনামূল্যে তুলে দেওয়া হয় মাছের পোনা।

কেরলের কারিমীন একটি আদিবাসী পর্যায়ের মাছ। যা প্রধানত মহাদেশীয় উপদ্বীপের পূর্ব ও দক্ষিণ পশ্চিমাঞ্চলীয় উপকুল ভাগ বরাবর পাওয়া যায়। এই মাছের বিজ্ঞানসম্মত নাম ইট্রোপ্লাস সুরেটেনসিস, ইংরিজিতে পার্ল স্পট ফিশ; সারা গা জুড়ে সাদা সাদা দাগ থাকে বলে এর নাম মুক্ত গোছা।

কেরলে শুধুমাত্র মিষ্টি জলে চাষ হলেও, এই মাছ ঈষৎ নোনা জলেও চাষ করা যায়। এর ফলে রাজ্যের মৎস্যজীবীরা বাড়তি উপার্জনের সুবিধা পাবে।

To enable coordination of information on missing persons, West Bengal Police has decided to set up a Missing Persons Bureau in every commissionerate. As a part of the efforts towards coordination of information, the state police is also setting up a database of missing persons.

For a start, 30 police officers have been selected for manning the bureaus in five commissionerates. Gradually, bureaus would be set up in all the eight commissionerates. Two commissionerates were created recently, in Haldia and in Kharagpur.

Till now, the Missing Persons Bureau of CID was the sole agency responsible. To reduce pressure on it, the government has decided to set up a bureau in each commissionerate, each of which is responsible for a group of, mostly urban, police station areas.

Many times it happens that a person returns home, but the information does not reach the police. Sometimes the family does not inform the police; and then too, it is difficult for the single bureau under the CID to deal with missing persons’ information from across the state. Hence, to spread the responsibility, in order to have up-to-date information, West Bengal Police has taken this decision, which is indeed commendable.

এ বার রাজ্যের প্রতিটি পুলিশ কমিশনারেটে আলাদা করে মিসিং পার্সন ব্যুরো গঠনের সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছে রাজ্য পুলিশ৷ আপাতত পাঁচটি কমিশনারেটের জন্য মোট ৩০ জন পুলিশকর্মীও এ জন্য বরাদ্দ করা হয়েছে৷

এত দিন পর্যন্ত রাজ্য পুলিশের তরফে সারা রাজ্যের জন্য এই বিষয়টি দেখাশোনা করত সিআইডি-র মিসিং পার্সন স্কোয়াড৷ রাজ্য পুলিশ সূত্রের খবর, ভবানী ভবনের উপর থেকে চাপ কমানোর জন্যই এ বার নিখোঁজদের খোঁজ করবে সংশ্লিষ্ট এলাকার কমিশনারেটগুলিই৷

পুলিশ সূত্রের খবর, প্রথমে বাড়ির লোকেদের কাছ থেকে নিখোঁজ ব্যক্তির ছবি এবং বিস্তারিত বর্ণনা নেওয়া হয়৷ তার পর তা পাঠিয়ে দেওয়া হয় আশেপাশের থানা এবং রেলপুলিশের কাছে৷ অনেক ক্ষেত্রে দূরদর্শনে বা সংবাদপত্রে বিজ্ঞাপনও দেওয়া হয়৷ বেশির ভাগ ক্ষেত্রে এই পদ্ধতিতে সাফল্যও মেলে৷ তবে রাজ্য পুলিশ এখন থেকে নিখোঁজ ব্যক্তিদের একটি ডেটা-বেস তৈরি করতে চাইছে যাতে পরবর্তীতে তা কাজে লাগে৷

One the second day of the New Year Bengal received an investment to the tune of Rs 700 crore from Exide industries. Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banrjee today inaugurated India’s first punch-grid storage battery plant at Haldia. She also inaugurated an IT Park at Haldia.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said, “In Bengal no mandays are lost due to bandhs now. We have a new policy for industry. We have a land bank, land map.” She said that a new international convention centre will come up at Digha.

Highlighting the woes of demonetisation, the CM added: “The industrial scenario in the country has worsened in the last 2 months. The MSME sector is going through turmoil. Even in America, economy is only 40% cashless. In India, 92% rural areas have no banks.”

She said in a democracy the government is of the people, by the people and for the people.

ইংরেজি নববর্ষের দ্বিতীয় দিনে বাংলার জন্য সুখবর। হলদিয়াতে ৭০০ কোটি টাকা বিনিয়োগ করছে এক্সাইড। ভারতের প্রথম পাঞ্চ-গ্রিড স্টোরেজ ব্যাটারি প্লান্টের আজ উদ্বোধন করলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। তিনি একটি তথ্যপ্রযুক্তি পার্কের উদ্বোধনও করেন।

মুখ্যমন্ত্রী বলেন যে রাজ্যে এখন বনধের কারণে শ্রম দিবস নষ্ট হয়না। রাজ্য সরকার নতুন শিল্প নীতি তৈরী করছে। ল্যান্ড ব্যাঙ্ক, ল্যান্ড ম্যাপও তৈরী করা হয়েছে। তিনি জানান দিঘায় একটি আন্তর্জাতিক কনভেনশন সেন্টার তৈরী হবে।

নোট বাতিলের ফলে দেশের মানুষের কষ্টের কথা বলতে গিয়ে মুখ্যমন্ত্রী বলেন, দেশের শিল্প ভীষণভাবে ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত হয়েছে। ক্ষুদ্র ও মাঝারি শিল্পে টালমাটাল অবস্থা। আমেরিকাতেও ৪০% অর্থনীতি মাত্র নগদহীন। ভারতের ৯২% গ্রামাঞ্চলে ব্যাংক পরিষেবা পৌঁছায়নি।

তিনি আরও বলেন যে গণতন্ত্রে সরকার মানুষের প্রতি দায়বদ্ধ।

Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today inaugurated the ‘Bengal Information Technology Park’ at Haldia. This is a project to facilitate IT industry by providing ‘plug and play’ facilities. 24X7 quality power supply, security and support services will also be provided.

The Bengal Government will open seven Information Technology parks in the state by 2017, the state IT minister had earlier said. He had said that three hardware parks were coming up in the state, besides setting up of an institute of data sciences and a cyber security centre of excellence for protection of data.

The Bengal Government is also keen on a start-up action plan, which will be targeted at the young population in the state.

আজ হলদিয়ায় ‘বাংলা তথ্যপ্রযুক্তি পার্ক’ এর উদ্বোধন করলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। তথ্যপ্রযুক্তি শিল্পের সহায়তার জন্য এই প্রকল্পে থাকছে প্লাগ এন্ড প্লে সুবিধা। এছাড়াও থাকছে ২৪X৭ উন্নতমানের বিদ্যুৎ সরবরাহ, নিরাপত্তা ও সহায়ক পরিষেবা।

তথ্য ও প্রযুক্তি মন্ত্রী এর আগে জানিয়েছেন যে ২০১৭র মধ্যে সাতটি তথ্যপ্রযুক্তি কেন্দ্র এই রাজ্যে গড়ে তুলতে উদ্যোগ নিয়েছে রাজ্য সরকার। মন্ত্রী আরও বলেন, তিনটি হার্ডওয়্যার কেন্দ্র গড়ে তলা হচ্ছে পাশাপাশি একটি প্রতিষ্ঠান গড়ে তলা হবে যেখানে ডেটাসায়েন্স ও সাইবার সিকিউরিটির প্রশিক্ষণ দেওয়া হবে।

রাজ্য সরকার যুবক যুবতীদের কথা মাথায় রেখে কিছু কর্মসূচী গ্রহন করতে চলেছে।

West Bengal Finance and Industries Minister Dr Amit Mitra on Friday highlighted the investment figures and projects-in-pipeline to depict a changing industrial climate in the state.

He instead gave thrust on Purulia’s Raghunathpur figuring in the national dedicated freight corridor grid, HPCL’s turnaround story, and Birbhum’s Deocha Pachami coal block.

“The Global Business Summit in 2015 drew investment proposals of Rs 2,43,100 crore of which Rs 94,380 crore are at an operational state. The 2016 summit saw a commitment of Rs 2,50,254 crore. Inspite of the polls – and model code of conduct – Rs 24,924 crore of it are at an operational state,” Mitra said while replying to a budgetary debate in the assembly.

He claimed the state has got proposals for 234 medium and large scale units, which together amounts for a whopping Rs 72,516 crore.

Referring to July 2015 central data, he claimed that industrial growth in Bengal was higher than many states, including Punjab, Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra.

He said that the state has been scaling up infrastructure requirements like connectivity, water, transportation and power back-up at the Industrial Parks to make them viable destinations for investment. Mitra cited the HPCL’s 97 per cent productivity levels and its increased profits.
