SARAS Mela begins at Salt Lake

The national-level handicrafts fair, SARAS Mela, began on November 24 at Central Park in Salt Lake, to continue till December 4. The fair is organised by the Bengal Government’s Panchayats and Rural Development Department.

Handicrafts from across India are available here. People in Bengal being cultural-minded, handicrafts fairs in Kolkata are always popular. The fair has already drawn hundreds of people.

This fair will be held in Siliguri too in January.

সল্টলেকে শুরু হল সরস মেলা

প্রতি বছরের মতো এবছরেরও মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের অনুপ্রেরণায় পঞ্চায়েত ও গ্রামোন্নয়ন দপ্তরের উদ্যোগে শুরু হল সরস মেলা। মেলা চলবে আগামী ৪ঠা ডিসেম্বর পর্যন্ত।

এই মেলাটিতে থাকে হস্তশিল্পের বিপুল সম্ভার। এটি হস্তশিল্পের একমাত্র জাতীয় স্তরের মেলা যা কলকাতায় হয়।

সেন্ট্রাল পার্কে অনুষ্ঠিত হচ্ছে এই মেলা। বাংলার বিভিন্ন প্রান্তের হস্তশিল্পের সম্ভার নিয়ে এসেছেন শিল্পীরা।

Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday made a scathing attack on the Centre for not taking up the issue of the tea gardens. She was speaking at the administrative review meeting of three districts — Alipurduar, Cooch Behar and Jalpaiguri — at Uttarkanya on Wednesday afternoon.

“What have they done to the tea gardens? Central ministers had assured before the election that seven tea gardens would be taken over. They won the polls but did not keep their word. We always keep our promises. We spent Rs 40,000 crore to repay loans. But despite financial constraint, we have taken up so many projects and successfully implemented them,” she said.

Mamata Banerjee asked the officials to take measures to end drinking water scarcity at the tea gardens. “We have always stood beside the tea garden workers and will continue to do so in future,” she maintained.

Two state ministers, Subrata Mukherjee (Panchayat and Rural Development) and Aroop Biswas (PWD and Youth Services and Sports) along with Chief Secretary and two additional Chief Secretaries along with a host of principal secretaries were present at the meeting. The Director General of Police and senior officials of these three districts and MLAs, Sabhadhipatis and Panchayat pradhans also attended the meeting.

চা বাগানের উন্নয়ন নিয়ে কেন্দ্রকে তোপ মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর

গতকাল উত্তরকন্যায় তিনটি জেলার – আলিপুরদুয়ার, জলপাইগুড়ি ও কুচবিহার – আধিকারিকদের নিয়ে একটি প্রশাসনিক বৈঠক করেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। এই বৈঠকে চা বাগানের উন্নয়ন নিয়ে কেন্দ্রকে আক্রমণ করেন তিনি।

মুখ্যমন্ত্রী বলেন, চা বাগানগুলির জন্য কি করেছে কেন্দ্র? নির্বাচনের আগে কেন্দ্রীয় মন্ত্রীরা বলেছিলেন সাতটি চা বাগান তারা অধিগ্রহণ করবেন। সেই প্রতিশ্রুতি তারা পূরণ করেননি। আমরা কথা দিয়ে কথা রাখি। বাম সরকারের ঋণ শোধ করতে আমাদের ৪০০০০ কোটি টাকা কেটে নিয়ে গেছে। কিন্তু আমরা কোনও প্রকল্প বন্ধ করিনি, উন্নয়নের কাজও বন্ধ হয়নি।

তিনি আধিকারিকদের নির্দেশ দেন চা বাগানে পানীয় জলের সমস্যা মেটানোর জন্য। “আমরা চা বাগানের কর্মীদের পাশে ছিলাম, এবং তাদের উন্নয়নের জন্য ভবিষ্যতেও কাজ করব,” বলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী।

এদিনকার বৈঠকে উপস্থিত ছিলেন পঞ্চায়েত ও গ্রামোন্নয়ন মন্ত্রী সুব্রত মুখোপাধ্যায়, যুবকল্যাণ ও ক্রীড়া মন্ত্রী অরূপ বিশ্বাস, মুখ্যসচিব, বিভিন্ন দপ্তরের আধিকারিকরা, রাজ্যের ডিজি, তিন জেলার বিধায়ক, পঞ্চায়েত প্রধান, সভাধিপতি প্রমুখ।

Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday criticised the Centre for the alleged leakage of data of some Aadhaar beneficiaries on more than 200 Central and state government websites and described it as “dangerous” for the individual, society and the country.

Her criticism came on a day when the Unique Identification Authority of India, in response to a report based on a RTI reply stating that 210 government websites had made Aadhaar data public, accepted that the data was displayed on the government websites.

“What is happening in the name of Aadhaar is extremely dangerous for freedom of expression. It is dangerous for the individual, for the society and for the country,” said Ms. Banerjee. She further alleged that because of Aadhaar even personal conversations may get leaked.

“Even the conversations between a mother and daughter or husband and wife may get leaked,” the Chief Minister said. She also raised questions over the logic behind linking phone numbers and bank accounts with Aaadhaar.

“I don’t know why they (the Centre) are doing it. We already have PAN card and voter identity card. There are some people like Muhammad bin Tughlaq who are happy in committing whimsical acts like demonetisation,” said Ms. Banerjee.

 

আধারের তথ্য ফাঁস, সরব হলেন মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়

সম্প্রতি সরকারি ওয়েবসাইটে আধারের তথ্য ফাঁস হয়ে গিয়েছে বলে জানিয়েছে আধার প্রস্ততকারক সংস্থা ইউনিক আইডেন্টিফিকেশন অথরিটি অব ইন্ডিয়া (ইউআইডিএআই)। তারপরই বিষয়টি নিয়ে সরব হলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী।

তিনি বলেন, ‘‘আধার অত্যন্ত বিপজ্জনক। আমি নিজে ইউনিক কার্ডের পক্ষপাতি। একটাই কার্ড হোক। ১০টা কার্ড তো আর হয় না। কিন্তু, আধার কার্ডের নাম করে মানুষের তথ্য ওয়েবসাইটে দিয়ে দেওয়া হচ্ছে সেটা বিপজ্জনক।’’

পাশাপাশি তিনি কেন্দ্রীয় সরকারের নীতি নিয়েও তাদের একহাত নেন। মমতা বলেন, ‘‘হঠাৎ করে মুদ্রা পরিবর্তন! একটা পাল্টে অন্য মুদ্রা চালু করে দেব। এটা খামখেয়ালিপনা। মহম্মদ বিনতুঘলকের মতো কাজ করা।’’

তিনি আরও বলেন, ‘‘এটা ডেঞ্জারাস ফর দ্য সোসাইটি। ডেনঞ্জারাস ফর দ্যা ইনডিভিজুয়াল। ডেঞ্জারাস ফর দ্য কান্ট্রি।’’

আধার কার্ড মানুষের গোপনীয়তার পরিপন্থী, এই অভিযোগ মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় আগেই তুলেছিলেন।

 

 

Museum coming up inside Bengal Assembly

On November 20, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is going to lay the foundation stone of a museum inside the Assembly premises. The museum will depict the rich history of the Legislative Assembly, and through it, the immense contribution of Bengal to the freedom struggle of the country.

It will be housed inside a five-storied building, which will have, among other facilities, a state-of-the-art auditorium.

The history of the Bengal Legislature can be traced back to January 18, 1862 when, under the Indian Councils Act of 1861, a twelve-member Legislative Council for Bengal Presidency was established by the Governor-General of British India, with the Lt Governor of Bengal and some nominated members.

Under the provisions of the Government of India Act 1935, the Bengal Provincial Legislature, as it was named later, was made bicameral – housing the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly.

The Legislative Council was abolished in 1969 through the enactment of the West Bengal Legislative Council (Abolition) Act.

At present, the Legislative Assembly has 295 members, which includes 294 members directly elected from single-seat constituencies and one nominated from the Anglo-Indian community. Its term is five years, unless sooner dissolved.

রাজ্য বিধানসভায় তৈরী হচ্ছে একটি সংগ্রহশালা

পশ্চিমবঙ্গ বিধানসভায় এবার তৈরী হবে একটি সংগ্রহশালা। ২০শে নভেম্বর বিধানসভার শীতকালীন অধিবেশন শুরু হতে চলেছে। মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় সেদিনই শিলন্যাস করবেন।

রাজ্য বিধানসভার সোনালী ইতিহাসের সরণি হয়ে উঠবে এই সংগ্রহশালা। দেশের স্বাধীনতা সংগ্রামে পশ্চিমবঙ্গ বিধানসভার যে ভূমিকা ছিল তাও ধরা থাকবে এই সংগ্রহশালায়।

একটি পাঁচতলা ভবনে তৈরী হবে এই সংগ্রহশালাটি। এখানে থাকবে একটি প্রেক্ষাগৃহও।

রাজ্যের বিধানসভার সূচনা হয় ১৮৬২ সালের ১৮ই জানুয়ারী। ইন্ডিয়ান কাউন্সিল অ্যাক্ট ১৮৬১ অনুসারে ব্রিটিশ ভারতের গভর্নর জেনারেল, লেফট্যানেন্ট গভর্নর অফ বেঙ্গল ও কিছু মনোনীত সদস্যদের নিয়ে একটি ১২ সদস্যের বিধানপরিষদ গঠন করা হয়।

গভর্মেন্ট অফ ইন্ডিয়া অ্যাক্ট ১৯৩৫ অনুসারে বেঙ্গল প্রভিন্সিয়াল লেজিসলেচারকে দ্বিকাক্ষিক করা হয় (বিধানসভা ও বিধানপরিষদ)। ১৯৬৯ সালে অবশ্য রাজ্যের বিধানপরিষদকে তুলে দেওয়া হয় ওয়েস্ট বেঙ্গল লেজিসলেটিভ (অ্যাবলিশন) অ্যাক্টের মাধ্যমে।

এই মুহূর্তে বিধানসভার সদস্য সংখ্যা ২৯৫ (২৯৪ জন নির্বাচিত এবং ১ জন মনোনীত সদস্য থাকেন আংলো ইন্ডিয়ান সম্প্রদায় থেকে)। বিধানসভার মেয়াদ ৫ বছর।

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has expressed the desire of the Bengal Government to acquire the house in London where Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore had lived, and convert it into a museum-cum-memorial to the world-famous poet and writer.

Mamata Banerjee expressed the State Government’s desire during a meeting with the Indian High Commissioner in London.

Tagore had lived at No. 3, Heath Villas in Hampstead Heath, north London, for a few months in 1912 while he translated his collection of poems, Gitanjali, for which he went on to win the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1913.

The Chief Minister is in London for a week-long tour of the United Kingdom (UK). She unveiled the Blue Plaque at the house in London where Sister Nivedita lived for some time, which is awarded by British Heritage to places in need of conservation. She is next scheduled to hold a series of meetings in London and then in Scotland with potential investors, with an eye on the Bengal Global Business Summit 2018, to be held next January.

Incidentally, Tagore’s home has already been awarded the Blue Plaque, the inscription on which reads: Rabindranath Tagore (1861-1941) Indian poet stayed here in 1912.

রবীন্দ্রনাথের লন্ডনের বাড়িকে রবীন্দ্র সংগ্রহশালা করতে চান মুখ্যমন্ত্রী

লন্ডনের রবীন্দ্রস্মৃতিধন্য বাড়ির দায়িত্ব নিতে চায় রাজ্য সরকার। উত্তর লন্ডনের যে বাড়িতে বসে গীতাঞ্জলীর ইংরেজি তর্জমা করা হয়েছিল, সেই বাড়িটিকে রবীন্দ্র স্মারক সংগ্রহশালায় রূপান্তরিত করতে চান মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়।

মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর বর্তমান ব্রিটেন সফরেই ব্রিটেনে ভারতীয় রাষ্ট্রদূতের সঙ্গে দেখা করে এই ইচ্ছা প্রকাশ করেন মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। হ্যামস্টেট হিথের ৩নং বাড়িটিতে ১৯১২ সালে কয়েক মাস কাটিয়েছিলেন রবীন্দ্রনাথ ঠাকুর। গীতাঞ্জলীর ১০৩ টি কাব্যের ইংরেজি অনুবাদ করে তা পাঠানো হয়েছিল নোবেল কমিটির কাছে। ১৯১৩ সালে রবীন্দ্রনাথ নোবেল পুরস্কার পান। এরপর ১৯৩১ সাল পর্যন্ত রবীন্দ্রনাথ বেশ কয়েকবার কাটিয়েছেন তাঁর প্রিয় লন্ডন হাউসে। সেই হিসেবে এই বাড়িটির ঐতিহাসিক গুরুত্ব অপরিসীম।

রাজ্য সরকার এই বাড়িটিকে কিনে রবীন্দ্র সংগ্রহশালা করতে চায়। এই সম্পত্তির মূল্য ২.৭ মিলিয়ন পাউন্ড। উল্লেখ্য, বাড়িটি ইতিমধ্যেই ‘ব্লু প্লাক’ মর্যাদা পেয়েছে।

The Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) is organising a get-together at Eco Island inside Eco Park today. The get together is being held a day before the final of Under-17 World Cup football which will be played at the Swami Vivekananda Yuva Bharati Krirangan.

The president of FIFA Gianni Infantino has arrived in the city to attend the final. Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and her council of ministers along with former players and Olympians are likely to attend the get-together.

To display the richness of Bengal’s cultural heritage, the State Government is organising a 45-minute cultural performance that will include dance performances, classical songs and fusion music by noted artistes.

Incidentally, in order to display Bengal’s heritage, the Swami Vivekananda Yuva Bharati Krirangan will showcase a giant ‘alpona’ in front of the VIP entrance near Gate No. 5 on the day of the final match. A team of around 200 artistes, mostly students of different art colleges of the State are already on to the job.

 

আজ ফিফার সভায় মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর উপস্থিতিতে বাংলার ধ্রুপদি নৃত্য

আজ ফিফার ২৫০ টি দেশের প্রতিনিধিদের সামনে তুলে ধরা হবে বাংলার সঙ্গীত ও নৃত্যের কলাকৌশল।

আজ এই অনুষ্ঠান হবে ইকো পার্কে এবং রাজ্য সরকারের হয়ে প্রতিনিধিত্ব করবেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। সন্ধ্যে ৭ টা থেকে রাত ৯ টা পর্যন্ত চলবে এই অনুষ্ঠান। এর মধ্যে ৪৫ মিনিট বরাদ্দ করা হয়েছে বাংলার জন্য।

বাংলার সাংস্কৃতিক ঐতিহ্যকে আন্তর্জাতিক প্রতিনিধিদের সামনে তুলে ধরবে বাংলার শিল্পীরা। তুলে ধরা হবে বাংলার ধ্রুপদি সঙ্গীত, নৃত্য ও যন্ত্র সঙ্গীত।

বিশ্বকাপের জন্য আমূল বদলে ফেলা হয় যুবভারতীকে। রাজ্য সরকারের অনুরোধে স্থানীয় অর্গানাইজিং কমিটি এবার সাধের স্টেডিয়ামের ভোলবদলের জন্য ‘আশ্রয়’ নিল আল্পনার। যুবভারতীয় ৫ নম্বর গেটের ভিআইপি এন্ট্রান্স থেকে শুরু হয়েছে এই আল্পনা। ফাইনালের আগে বৃহস্পতিবার ও শুক্রবার ২৫০ জনের টিম এই সৌন্দর্যায়নের কাজে যুক্ত। বিশ্বভারতী, রবীন্দ্রভারতী, গর্ভনমেন্ট আর্ট কলেজ, ইন্ডিয়ান আর্ট কলেজের বাছাই করা ২১০ জন শিল্পী এনে শুরু করা হয়েছে এই আল্পনা অঙ্কণ।

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee gave away the Biswa Bangla Sharad Samman today at Nazrul Mancha.

The Chief Minister had instituted these awards three years ago. Apart from the awards for the best Durga Pujas, the Chief Minister also started Durga Puja Bisarjan Carnival from 2016. The carnival has become extremely popular across the world.

It is a tradition to meet your near and dear ones for mishtimukh after Bijoya. I am happy to meet with you all on this occasion.

Crores of people had visited various pandals during the festive days. But there had not been any untoward incidents. My best wishes to all for maintaining peace and harmony during Durga Pujo.

his year, Muharram and Durga Puja happened at the same time, this happens every 25-30 years. For the last four to five years, the people of Bengal have been celebrating Durga Puja and Muharram around the same time. This year, the celebrations were totally incident-free, for which I congratulate the puja committees and the people.

We all follow some religion or the other, but we all celebrate festivals together. A lot of conspiracies were hatched, but to the credit of you all, no untoward incident happened during the happy festival. What Bengal can do, no one else can. I am sure had Ganapati Visarjan and Muharram coincided, Maharashtra would not have been able to conduct them in a smooth manner.

A lot of foreign tourists came to Bengal to witness the grand festival. Durga Puja has now become a 10-day festival. So many artistes toil tirelessly for months on end to create such beautiful pieces of art. Durga Pujo generates huge employment opportunities.

This year the Bishorjon Carnival was a huge success. Several crores of people watched it from across the world online. I have been flooded with congratulatory comments on social media. This year 70 clubs participated; next year we will include 10 more clubs.

I appeal to you all to exercise caution during Kali Pujo. Do follow the fire safety norms. Do not let your celebration become a cause of concern for someone else. My advance wishes for Chhat and Jagadhatri Pujo. The festive season has just begun and will continue till Gangasagar Mela in January.

 

 

বিশ্ব বাংলা শারদ সম্মান ২০১৭ পুরস্কার বিতরণ করলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী

 

আজ নজরুল মঞ্চে বিশ্ব বাংলা শারদ সম্মান ২০১৭ পুরস্কার বিতরণ করলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী। এই নিয়ে তৃতীয় বর্ষে পড়ল এই সম্মাননা প্রদান।

এবারের পুরস্কার বিজয়ীদের তালিকা দেখে নিন।

মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর বক্তব্যের কিছু অংশঃ-

বিজয়ার পরে মিষ্টিমুখ করার একটা প্রথা আছে। আজ আপনাদের সাথে মিলিত হয়ে খুব ভালো লাগছে। কোটি কোটি মানুষ পুজোয় প্যান্ডেলে প্যান্ডেলে ঠাকুর দেখেছেন। কিন্তু, কোথাও কোনও অপ্রীতিকর ঘটনা ঘটেনি। সবাইকে আমি অভিনন্দন জানাই। প্রচুর বিদেশী অতিথি এসে প্রশংসা করেছেন।

আমি ধন্যবাদ জানাচ্ছি এই কারণে যে পুজোর দিনগুলো সুন্দর ভাবে, শান্তিপূর্ণ ভাবে আপনারা পালন করেছেন। মহরম ও পুজো একসঙ্গে ছিল। ১৯৮২ সালে একই সাথে মহরম ও পুজো পড়েছিল। এরকম ২৫-৩০ বছর পরপর হয়। গত ৪/৫ বছর ধরে পুজো-মহরম একই সময় বাংলার মানুষ করে এসেছে। এবার কোনও ঘটনা ঘটেনি। এই কৃতিত্ব কিন্তু সকল পুজো কমিটির ও মানুষের।

ধর্ম যার যার, উৎসব সবার। চক্রান্ত কম হয়নি, প্ররোচনা কম হয়নি, কিন্তু, পুজো কমিটিগুলো এই ফাঁদে পা দেয়নি। আমি প্রতিটা মানুষকে আমার অভিনন্দন জানাই।

মহারাষ্ট্র একসাথে গণপতি বিসর্জন ও মহরম একসঙ্গে করে  দেখাতে পারবে না। বাংলা যা পারে, অন্য কেউ তা পারে না।

এই পুজোকে কেন্দ্র করে প্রচুর কর্মসংস্থান হয়। পুজো শুধু বিগ নয়- ‘বিগেস্ট ইনভেস্টমেন্ট’। মাসের পর মাস খেটে শিল্পীরা চমকে দেওয়ার মতো প্যান্ডেল বানায়।

এবছর ৭০টি ক্লাবকে নিয়ে বিসর্জন হয়েছে, সামনের বার আরও ১০টি ক্লাব বাড়বে। বিশ্বজুড়ে কোটি কোটি মানুষ অনলাইনে এই কার্নিভ্যাল দেখেন। আমার কাছে প্রচুর শুভেচ্ছা বার্তা এসছে।

সামনেই কালী পুজো। সবার ভাল কাটুক। আগুন নিয়ে সাবধান, আলোকের এই ঝর্ণাধারায় সবার জীবন ভরে উঠুক। বাজি পোড়ানোর সময় সতর্ক থাকবেন, আপনার আনন্দ যেন অন্য কারো দুঃখের কারণ না হয়।

ছট পুজো ও জগদ্ধাত্রী পুজোর আগাম শুভেচ্ছা জানাই। সবে তো উৎসব শুরু হল, এই উৎসবের মরশুম চলবে গঙ্গাসাগর মেলা পর্যন্ত।

সবাই ভাল থাকুন, সুস্থ থাকুন, সাবধানে থাকুন।

In a poetic letter, Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee reached out to the Durga Puja committees across the state, wishing the organisers.

In a letter dated August 30, 2017, she eulogised the victory of good over evil. She also appealed to all to maintain communal harmony at the time of the festivities.

She said that ‘Sharodiya Durgotsav’ is not only a religious festival but a festival that unites all.

শারদোৎসবের শুভেচ্ছা জানিয়ে দুর্গা পুজো আয়োজকদের চিঠি দিলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়।

৩০শে আগস্ট তিনি এক চিঠির মাধ্যমে সকল পুজো আয়োজকদের বলেন আনন্দময়ীর আবাহনের মধ্যেই নিহিত অশুভ শক্তির বিনাশ আর শুভ শক্তির জয়। তিনি আবেদন করেন অনুষ্ঠানের দিনগুলিতে সাম্প্রদায়িক সম্প্রীতি বজায় রাখতে।

তিনি বলেন, দুর্গাপুজো কোনও একটি সম্প্রদায়ের পুজো নয়, এটি এমন এক উৎসব যেখানে সকল সম্প্রদায় মিলে আনন্দ করেন।

‘বাজলো তোমার আলোর বেণু’

শিউলি সকাল, কাশফুলের দোলা আর শরতের সাদা মেঘ এবার বয়ে আনলো মা দুর্গার আগমন বার্তা। এবারে সব দুঃখ দৈন্য ভুলে আনন্দে মেতে ওঠার পালা; সমস্ত ভেদাভেদ ভুলে সবাই মিলে একসাথে উৎসবের আঙিনায় মিলিত হওয়ার সময়।

আনন্দময়ীর আবাহনের মধ্যেই নিহিত অশুভ শক্তির বিনাশ আর শুভ শক্তির জয়। চিন্ময়ী দেবীর মৃন্ময়ী রূপে আগমন তাই নিয়ে আসে নববিধানের আশ্বাস আর নবনির্মাণের পবিত্র প্রত্যয়।

“মা আসছেন, শিউলি ভোরে

শঙ্খ বাজুক ঘরে ঘরে।”

শারদীয়া দুর্গোৎসব শুধুমাত্র এক ধর্মীয় আচার-আয়োজন নয়, সর্বস্তরের, সর্বধর্মের মানুষের আত্মিক মেলবন্ধনই এই উৎসবের মূল ভাবনা, চিরন্তন সুর। দশভুজার চরণস্পর্শে তাই সঞ্চারিত হোক আশার আলো, আনন্দধারায় সিক্ত হয়ে উঠুক বিশ্বভুবন। সবাই ভালো থাকুন, সকলের ভালো হোক।

আপনাদের শারদোৎসবের আয়োজন সফল হোক, উৎসবের দিনগুলিতে সবাই শান্তি ও মৈত্রীর মেল্বন্ধনে আবদ্ধ থাকুন। সকলকে জানাই শারদীয়ার প্রীতি, ভালোবাসা ও শিউলি শুভেচ্ছা।

The Mamata Banerjee-government has decided to set up a dedicated computer and language skill training centre for state government employees.

The Chief Minister announced it on Thursday: “A dedicated training centre will be developed to provide computer and language skills training to our employees. Rs 10 crore has been sanctioned for the project.”

The training centre will come up just beside the Administrative Training Institute (ATI) at Salt Lake. “It is not that we are planning for it. It has already been decided and it will be done without wasting any time. We don’t keep things in a planning stage for a long time. Instead, we prefer executing a plan on time,” she said.

“I want to see that day when the entire world will say that the Bengal government employees can make it possible and for it the employees’ skills have to be developed. It is not our fault that we have not been sent to English medium schools by our parents. Three generations had not got the opportunity to learn English properly for the Left Front government,” she said adding that there is nothing to be shameful if one cannot speak in English. But one has to learn it for the sake of work.

Mamata Banerjee said: “We will get trained and will improve our skills. There is nothing to be shy of it. If anyone asks me to go for a training programme, I will be enthusiastic enough to go for it as I will get to learn something.” “We are sending our officers to Singapore and Cambridge for training to prepare them for the future. It had never happened earlier,” she said adding that not only WBCS, officers of nine other services will also go abroad for training,” she said adding that this year 25 selected officers from nine different services are going for training to world class institutions.

Stating that she always wants an employee to get promoted to officer rank, she said: “One has to be disciplined and work with diligence.” She said that she always follows discipline and prefers to reach a venue before the scheduled time.

 

সরকারি কর্মীদের দক্ষতা উন্নয়নের প্রশিক্ষণ দেওয়া হবেঃ বাংলার মুখ্যমন্ত্রী

রাজ্য সরকার কম্পিউটার ও ইংরাজি ভাষা প্রশিক্ষণ দেবে সরকারি কর্মচারীদের, বৃহস্পতিবার ঘোষণা করেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী। বিধান নগরে প্রশাসনিক প্রশিক্ষণ কেন্দ্রের পাশেই এই প্রশিক্ষণ কেন্দ্রটি খোলা হবে।

মুখ্যমন্ত্রী বলেন, “আমরা চাই সাড়া বিশ্বের মানুষ বলুক, এই রাজ্যের সরকারি কর্মচারীরা করে দেখাতে পারে ও তার জন্য এই প্রশিক্ষণ আবশ্যক। আমরা ইংরাজি মাধ্যম স্কুলে পড়াশুনো করিনি, এতে আমাদের দোষ নেই। বামফ্রন্ট সরকারের জন্য তিন প্রজন্ম ইংরাজি ভাষা শেখার সুযোগ পায় নি। কেউ যদি ইংরাজি ভাষায় কথা না বলতে পারে, তাতে দোষের কিছু নেই। কিন্তু, কাজের খাতিরে সেটা শিখতে হবে।”

মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় বলেন, “প্রশিক্ষণ পাব পেলে দক্ষতা বাড়বে। এতে লজ্জার কিছু নেই। আমায় যদি কেউ কিছু প্রশিক্ষণ নিতে বলে, আমি স্বাগ্রহে যাব কারণ আমি কিছু শিখতে পারব।”

তিনি বলেন, “আমরা আমাদের কর্মীদের সিঙ্গাপুর ও কেমব্রিজ পাঠাচ্ছি যাতে তাঁরা ভবিষ্যতের জন্য তৈরি হতে পারে; শুধু ডব্লিউবিসিএস নয়, অন্য নটি ক্ষেত্রের আধিকারিকরাও বিদেশ যাবেন প্রশিক্ষণ নিতে।” এ বছর ন’টি ক্ষেত্র থেকে ২৫জন আধিকারিককে বিদেশে পাঠানো হচ্ছে প্রশিক্ষণ নিতে।

Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday announced 15 per cent hike in dearness allowance of state government employees from next January. The increased DA for over 1.1 million employees would cost the exchequer about Rs 4,500 crore. She also said that all the arrears would be cleared in phases by end of 2019.

She also gave assurances on bridging the DA gap between Central and state government employees by 2019. She added: “There will be a hike in DA by 15 percent from January 1 next year. It will be applicable for all state government employees including the teaching and non-teaching staff.”

Giving a breakup of the expense that the state government will bear for increasing the DA, she said: “There will be an additional expense of Rs 4,500 crore of the state government for increasing the DA. In the past six years till January 1 in 2017, this government has increased the DA from 35 percent to 50 percent in six phases despite the financial crisis and it has led to an increase of expense by Rs 27,900 crore. Now, the amount will go up to Rs 32,400 crore as the total expense.”

The CM further stated: “One has to keep in mind that the Centre did not give the money to the state government. I am writing to the Centre asking it to give us the money that is needed to increase the DA along with them. Let them plan a policy. Now, there is GST which is a one-tax formula.”

She added that in the past six years her government has cleared a debt of Rs 1.79 lakh crore — a legacy left behind by the erstwhile CPI(M) government. “Moreover, this year we have to give Rs 45,000 crore and it will go up to Rs 47,000 crore next year,” she said adding that she made it possible to give the DA in such a situation just because she is always keen on small savings.

Stating that her government would have done much more if the Left Front government had not left behind the legacy of such a huge debt, she said: “Earlier, state government employees had to think whether they would get their salaries and pensions on the first day of every month or not. But now, they don’t have to worry as salary gets credited to their respective accounts on the first day of the month.”

She criticised the erstwhile Left Front government for not addressing the DA issue during their 34-year-long rule.

 

সরকারি কর্মচারীদের ১৫ শতাংশ ডিএ ঘোষণা করলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী

পুজোর মুখে রাজ্য সরকারের কর্মচারীদের জন্য সুখবর। বকেয়া ১৫ শতাংশ ডিএ পাবেন কর্মীরা। বৃহস্পতিবার নজরুল মঞ্চে কর্মচারীদের সম্মেলনে ঘোষণা করেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। আগামী বছরের পয়লা জানুয়ারি থেকে মিলবে এই বকেয়া মহার্ঘ ভাতা।

তিনি জানিয়েছেন ২০১৯-এর মধ্যে ধাপে ধাপে সমস্ত বকেয়া মহার্ঘ ভাতা মিটিয়ে দেওয়া হবে। ২০১৮ সালের পয়লা জানুয়ারি ১৫ শতাংশ মহার্ঘ ভাতা পাবেন রাজ্য সরকারের কর্মীরা। ৯ মাসের ব্যবধানে ফের রাজ্য সরকার ডিএ ঘোষণা করল।

মুখ্যমন্ত্রী অভিযোগ করেন রাজ্য ডিএ বাড়ালেও, সংবাদমাধ্যমেরও একাংশ তা নিয়ে অপপ্রচার করে। বকেয়া ডিএ নিয়ে পূর্বতন বাম সরকারেরও সমালচনা করেন।৩৪ বছর সময় মতো ডিএ না দেওয়ার জন্য এই পরিস্থিতি। তাদের করে যাওয়া ঋণ ১ লক্ষ ৮৬ হাজার কোটি টাকা শোধ করতে চলে গেছে। চলতি বছর ঋণ বাবদ আরও ৪৫ হাজার কোটি টাকা দিতে হবে।

পাশাপাশি তাঁর দাবি কয়েক লক্ষ টাকার দেনা মাথায় নিয়ে কর্মীদের মহার্ঘ ভাতা দেওয়া হচ্ছে। কর্মচারীরা সময়মতো বেতন পান। মহিলা কর্মীদের মাতৃত্বকালীন ছুটি অনেকটাই বাড়ানো হয়েছে। বাছাই করা কর্মীদের সিঙ্গাপুর এবং অক্সফোর্ডে প্রশিক্ষণের জন্য পাঠানো হচ্ছে।
