Trinamool Congress tables two amendments to President’s speech in RS

Trinamool MP Mr. Sukhendu Sekhar Roy tabled two amendments to President`s speech in RS. Debate on the same to commence from Wednesday.Speaking on the issue, Mr. Roy said that in spite of repeated requests made by the State Government regarding restructuring on moratorium, the President Mr. Pranab Mukherjee didn`t address the issue in his speech at the Parliament.
Mr. Roy also informed that this speech didn’t mention the poor condition of the jute industry which is one of the biggest industry in West Bengal. There are 68 jute mills on the banks of Hooghly river, nearly 50 lakh workers are employed in these mills. If the total number of their family members are added then the number comes to 2 crore who are depended for their livelihood on these mills. He said that there was no reference of this in the President’s speech and the Trinamool Congress has requested amendments to the President`s speech on the issue. Trinamool MP`s Mr. Derek O` Brien and Mr.Nadeem Ul Haq will preside over the issue in the Rajya Sabha.
