RS adjourned due to deliberate disruptions, voting of Lokpal stalled

Sad… Sad.. Sad… Organized Chaos, deliberate disruptions, really irresponsible. We were looking forward to our amendments, pressing for a voting, and then this orchestrated chaos happened, said Trinamool Rajya Sabha MP Derek O’ Brien.
Earlier, Trinamool MP Sukhendu Sekhar Roy said, `Our party leader has directed us to oppose the Bill to the extent` it seeks to encroach on autonomy of the States.
The Trinamool Congress on Thursday said the adjournment sine die of the Rajya Sabha without vote on the Lokpal bill was shameful and a sad day for democracy.
`We were the first party yesterday at 2pm to give these 2 amendments. We wanted to discuss this and vote. We want a strong Lokpal. Our issue is with the Lokayuktas. Disappointed, though it's too mild a word.,” said Trinamool MP Derek O'Brien.
Trinamool is opposed to the bill's provision on Lokayuktas in states, and views that federal autonomy may be lost under it. Trinamool had moved around 37 amendments for complete separation of the Lokayuktas from the Lokpal Bill.
