Dr Mriganka Mahato speaks on the Kanyashree Scheme during Question Hour

In Bengal, our popular Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee initiated the programme of Kanyashree in 2013.
This year, on June 24, the United Nations has awarded the Bengal Government the first prize for Public Service for this scheme. The award ceremony was held at the World Forum in The Hague. Out of 552 projects among 63 countries, the Kanyashree Scheme bagged the first prize. It is a great honour for our country too.
So, my request to the Central Government is that the Kanyashree Prakalpa or Scheme be followed by all other States and it should be taken up as a model scheme.
