Army stationed in front of Nabanna, Bengal CM stays overnight at Secretariat

Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee stayed at Nabanna, the State Secretariat, overnight after deployment of Army near the Secretariat late Thursday evening.
She called the move as “political, undemocratic, unethical, vindictive, unconstitutional.”
The Chief Minister said, “The army is collecting money at the toll plaza, and despite the police requesting them to withdraw, they have refused.”
“It is false that they are collecting data, the data they are talking of is readily available with the NHAI,” she added.
The Chief Minister said she had “taken information from Maharashtra, Kerala, Odisha, Chattisgarh. This action is not happening anywhere but in Bengal.”
She had called the deployment of Army in different parts of the State, without informing the State Government, as unconstitutional and wondered aloud if the Centre was trying to impose general emergency.
দুয়ারে সেনাবাহিনী, রাতভর নবান্নে কাটালেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী
রাজ্যকে না জানিয়ে সেনা নামানোর জন্য সারা রাত নবান্নে কাটালেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। আগেই তিনি হুঁশিয়ারি দিয়েছিলেন নবান্নের সামনে থেকে সেনা প্রত্যাহার না করলে তিনি রাজ্য সচিবালয় ছেড়ে যাবেন না।
রাজ্যকে না জানিয়ে বিভিন্ন জায়গায় এমনকি নবান্নের সামনে সেনা মোতায়েন করেছে কেন্দ্র। এই কাজ অগণতান্ত্রিক, অনৈতিক, প্রতিহিংসাপরায়ণ, অসাংবিধানিক।
মুখ্যমন্ত্রী জানান, “যতক্ষণ না নবান্নের সামনে থেকে সেনা প্রত্যাহার করা হচ্ছে ততক্ষণ আমি নবান্ন ছেড়ে যাব না। টোল প্লাজা থেকে সেনারা টাকা সংগ্রহ করছে। পুলিশ তাদের অনুরোধ করা সত্ত্বেও তারা তাদের প্রত্যাখ্যান করছে”। তিনি জানান, গণতন্ত্রকে রক্ষা করার স্বার্থেই তিনি রাতভর দপ্তরে অবস্থান করছেন।
সেনার সাফাইকে নস্যাৎ করে তিনি বলেন,”ওরা তথ্য সংগ্রহ করছে -একথা সম্পূর্ণ ভুল। যে তথ্য তারা সংগ্রহ করছে তা জাতীয় সড়ক কর্তৃপক্ষের কাছেই থাকে”।
মুখ্যমন্ত্রী জানান, তিনি মহারাষ্ট্র, কেরালা, উড়িষ্যা, ছত্তিশগড় সহ বিভিন্ন রাজ্যে খোঁজ নিয়েছেন, কোথাও এমন ঘটনা ঘটছে না কিন্তু বাংলায় ঘটছে।
তাঁর স্পষ্ট বক্তব্য, উদ্দেশ্য প্রণোদিতভাবে রাজ্যকে না জানিয়ে রাজ্যের বিভিন্ন জায়গায় সেনা মোতায়েন করা অসাংবিধানিক। আর্থিকের পর রাজ্যে রাজনৈতিক জরুরি অবস্থা জারি করার চেষ্টা করছে কেন্দ্রীয় সরকার।
