WB CM reshuffles West Bengal Cabinet

West Bengal Chief Minister Ms. MamataBanerjee on Wednesday reshuffled her Cabinet, the second time this year, withlabour minister being shifted to agriculture, induction of two new faces andreturn of Moloy Ghatak into the Council of Ministers. Mr Ghatak replaced PurnenduBose as the new labour minister.
The two new faces inducted to the ministryare Jyotirmoy Kar, TMC MLA from Patashpur in East Midnapore and Ashis Banerjee,the party legislator from Rampurhat in Birbhum district.
While Kar will be the minister-in-chargeco-operation department, Banerjee will be minister of state (independentcharge) of Ayush of health and family welfare department and MOS, department ofschool education and department of higher education.
Rachpal Singh, the minister of co-operationand planning was divested of the co-operation portfolio which was given to Kar.
Mr Singh, a former IPS officer, will nowhold the planning portfolio.
The new ministers wereadministered the oath of office and secrecy by the governor M K Naryayanan atRaj Bhavan.
The Chief Minister,her cabinet colleagues and Chief Secretary Sanjay Mitra were present amongothers at the occasion.
