Tableau on communal harmony at Independence Day parade
The Bengal Government conveyed the message of communal harmony at this year’s Independence Day parade on Red Road. A tableau based on the theme of ‘Ekotai Sampriti’ (Unity is Harmony) was a part of the parade.
The move to spread the message of communal harmony has been taken keeping the situation in mind after the Basirhat incident.
The theme of the painting competition for school students that the State Government organises every year at the Kolkata Information Centre on August 15 afternoon has also been selected accordingly. It will help in creating awareness among children about the tradition of communal peace and harmony that Bengal epitomises.
Besides the tableau based on ‘Ekotai Sampriti’, there were tableaux on the popular schemes and projects of the State Government, like Kanyashree, Sabuj Sathi, Sabuj Shree, Khadya Sathi and Safe Drive Save Life. Fifty beneficiaries of each scheme participated in the parade.

চিরাচরিত নিয়ম অনুযায়ী এবছরও ১৫ আগস্ট রেড রোডে পতাকা উত্তোলন করেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। তাঁকে গার্ড অব অনার দেওয়া হয়। পূর্ণ মর্যাদায় পালিত হয় স্বাধীনতা দিবস। পাশপাশি হয় কুচকাওয়াজ। ‘একতাই সম্প্রীতি’ এই ছিল এদিনের অনুষ্ঠানের মূল বার্তা।
প্রতি বছরের মত এবছরও ছাত্রছাত্রীদের জন্য আঁকা প্রতিযোগিতারও আয়োজন করেছিল কলকাতা ইনফরমেশন সেন্টার। এর মাধ্যমে ছাত্রছাত্রীদের মধ্যে সম্প্রীতির বার্তা ছড়িয়ে দেওয়াই ছিল প্রধান লক্ষ্য।
সেখানে দেখা মিলল কন্যাশ্রী ট্যাবলোর। কদিন আগেই রাষ্ট্রসংঘে সেরা জনকল্যাণমূলক প্রকল্পের স্বীকৃতি পেয়েছে রাজ্যের এই প্রকল্প। স্বাধীনতা দিবস উপলক্ষে সেই সাফল্যেরও প্রদর্শন হল।
একতাই সম্প্রীতির পাশাপাশি রাজ্য সরকারের বেশ কিছু উন্নয়নমূলক প্রকল্প যেমন কন্যাশ্রী, সবুজ সাথী, সবুজশ্রী, খাদ্য সাথী, সেফ ড্রাইভ সেভ লাইফ এইসব প্রকল্পের ট্যাবলোও ছিল। প্রতিটি ট্যাবলোতে প্রকল্পের ৫০ জন সুবিধাপ্রাপ্ত অংশগ্রহণ করেছিল।
