State Govt further revamping ITI syllabus in line with industry requirements
The Technical Education Department of the Bengal Government has taken a decision to further revamp the syllabus of the industrial training institutes (ITIs) to bring it in line with industry requirements.
The Technical Education Minister recently said that the department will have detailed discussions with chambers of commerce to implement the revamp. The department will also hold discussions with specific industries on ways of skill development.
Apart from the government ITIs, many are run in PPP (public-private partnership) mode wherein industrial houses conduct training as well as provide jobs.
Under Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s leadership, Bengal is surging ahead in industrial training. Work is going on in full swing to make her dream of having an ITI in every block of the state come true.
To further industry collaboration, the State Government has signed memoranda of understanding with Agriculture Skill Council of India (ASCI) and Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Associations of India (CREDAI). Vocational jobs have been included in the Employment Bank.
Last year, the government had launched a skill development scheme, Utkarsh Bangla for school dropouts and set a target of providing technical training to a minimum of 30 lakh people in four years.

আইটিআই সিলেবাসকে আরও শিল্পমুখী করে তুলবে রাজ্য সরকার
রাজ্য সরকারের কারিগরি শিক্ষা দপ্তর সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছে বর্তমান আইটিআই সিলেবাসকে আরও শিল্পমুখী করে তোলা হবে।
কারিগরি শিক্ষা মন্ত্রী জানান, এই নতুন সিলেবাস তৈরী করতে কারিগরি শিক্ষা দপ্তর বিভিন্ন চেম্বার অফ কমার্সের সঙ্গে আলোচনা করা হয়েছে। এছাড়া, স্কিল ডেভেলপমেন্টের জন্য বিভিন্ন নির্দিষ্ট শিল্পপতিদের সঙ্গেও আলোচনা করা হয়েছে।
সরকারি আইটিআইগুলো ছাড়াও অনেকগুলি আইটিআই পিপিপি মডেলে চলে। আইটিআইগুলোতে সংশ্লিষ্ট শিল্পমহলই প্রশিক্ষণ দেয় ও চাকরি প্রদান করে।
মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের নেতৃত্বে রাজ্য দক্ষতা প্রশিক্ষণে প্রথম সারিতে। রাজ্যের প্রতিটি ব্লকে আইটিআই খোলার যে স্বপ্ন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী দেখেছেন সেটিও বাস্তবায়নের পথেই এগোচ্ছে।
শিল্পের সঙ্গে সংযুক্ত হওয়ার জন্য রাজ্য সরকার ‘এগ্রিকালচার স্কিল কাউন্সিল অফ ইন্ডিয়া’ ও ‘কনফেডারেশন অফ রিয়েল এস্টেট ডেভেলপার্স অ্যাসোসিয়েশন অফ ইন্ডিয়া’র সঙ্গে মৌ স্বাক্ষর করেছে। এমপ্লয়মেন্ট ব্যাঙ্কে অন্তর্ভুক্ত হয়েছে বৃত্তিমূলক কাজ।
গতবছর রাজ্য সরকার স্কুল-ছুটদের জন্য একটি দক্ষতা বিকাশের প্রকল্প শুরু করেছে, যার নাম ‘উৎকর্ষ বাংলা’। এই প্রকল্পে আগামী ৪ বছরে অন্তত ৩০ লক্ষ মানুষকে কারিগরি প্রশিক্ষণ দেওয়া হবে।
