Efforts being made to make “Safe Drive Save Life” an example for the world to emulate
Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee recently chaired a high-level meeting with the State Police officials at Bhabani Bhawan to discuss further steps regarding the “Safe Drive Save Life” campaign so that in can be an example to the whole world, as had happened with Kanyashree Prakalpa.
Earlier, she inaugurated the renovated complex of the West Bengal Police. It was noted that within six months of the implementation of the “Safe Drive Save Life” campaign, the number of road accidents have come down compared to the preceding six months.
It was discussed in the meeting that the State Police will bring a new software and a mobile app for this purpose.
The app will be used to inform the State Police detailing about accidents from the spot so that the administration can take proper steps and formulate strategies for future.

‘কন্যাশ্রী’র পর এ বার ‘সেফ ড্রাইভ সেভ লাইফ’ কর্মসূচির ‘সাফল্য’-কে এ বার আন্তর্জাতিক মঞ্চে তুলে ধরতে চান মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়।
গত বছর জুলাইয়ে চালু হয় ‘সেফ ড্রাইভ সেভ লাইফ’৷ রাজ্য পুলিশের দাবি, নতুন কর্মসূচির ব্যাপক প্রচারের ফলে গত বছরের শেষ ছ’মাসের তুলনায় চলতি বছরের প্রথম ছ’মাসে পথ-দুর্ঘটনা কমেছে প্রায় ১৫%। প্রাণহানিও কমেছে।
এবার এই কর্মসূচিকে গোটা পৃথিবীর কাছে রোল মডেল করে তোলাই লক্ষ্য, যাতে বিশ্ববাসী তা অনুসরণ করে।
এর পাশাপাশি চালু করা হচ্ছে বিশেষ ট্রাফিক অ্যাপ। এর মাধ্যমে একনিমেষে যে কোনও দুর্ঘটনার খবর শীর্ষ পুলিশ কর্তাদের কাছে পৌঁছে যাবে। ঘটনাস্থলের ছবি থেকে শুরু করে যাবতীয় তথ্য চলে আসবে কয়েক সেকেন্ডের মধ্যেই।
একইসঙ্গে পুরানো দুর্ঘটনার তথ্য ও ছবি যাতে চটজলদি মেলে, সেই ব্যবস্থাও করা হচ্ছে, যাতে দ্রুত তুলনামূলক বিশ্লেষণ সেরে ফেলা যায়।
