CM addresses the representatives of the Foreign Embassies and industrialists individually about their wishes to invest in the State in her speech at Bengal Leads 2012 Summit

Kolkata, January 9: The ‘Bengal Leads 2012 Summit’ was inaugurated by Chief Minister Ms. Banerjee today. The Summit is being attended by delegates from all over the country and abroad. The summit, being held from January 9 to January 14 at Milan Mela on Eastern Bypass in Kolkata saw the foundation stone laying of the Shankara Netralaya by the CM.
Bengal Leads 2012 Summit, is yet another initiative taken by the Maa-Mati-Manush Government under the leadership of West Bengal Chief Minister Ms. Mamata Banerjee to take the industry on the world map. The announcement to hold the ‘Bengal Leads 2012’ was first made during the ‘Resurgent Bengal’ summit at the India International Trade fair 2011 (IITF) in New Delhi. During the ‘Resurgent Bengal’ summit The Chief Minister expressed her desire to have a summit in Kolkata and invite industry stalwarts in order to discuss the possibility of having investments across the world in West Bengal.
Trinamool MP Mr. Derek O' Brien compared the Opening Ceremony and the Chief Minister released the official Brochure after lighting the ceremonial lamp.
Mr Partha Chatterjee, Minister of Industries and Commerce welcomed all the delegates on behalf of the State Government. He informed the audience about the steps taken by the Trinamool-led government to facilitate the industrial growth and promote leverage of infrastructure.
Mr Amit Mitra, Minister of Finance informed the delegates about the measures that have been taken up by the Govt. and uphold transparency and bring in work culture. In this context, the Minister quoted Swami Vivekananda and his philosophy.
The Chief Minister in her speech pointed out that West Bengal is now ready for investment and the Govt. will assist the investors in every way. The Chief Minister addressed the representatives of the Foreign Embassies and industrialists individually about their wishes to investment in the State and asked for their support.
