Bengal Transport Dept introduces online platform for Gatidhara permits
The State Transport Department has introduced an online platform where applications for luxury car permits under the Gatidhara project from the State Transport Authority (STA) can be submitted.
The step has been taken to make the process of applying easier and hassle-free. Earlier, applicants had to stand in long queues for appointments and interviews that they needed to get through in order to obtain the permit. But with the introduction of the online application system, applicants do not need to go to the STA offices.
Prospective permit seekers just need to log in into the website, www.transport.wb.gov.in and click on the links for Annexure-I, Annexure-II and Annexure-III to download three forms, and then fill them up and submit them for an appointment on a desired date and time. After getting the date, the applicant has to appear before the officers in the STA with all the necessary documents for the interview. Applying for the permit is the first stage for getting the benefits under Gatidhara, which enables purchase of a luxury car for commercial purposes. Once the permit is obtained, the process of sanctioning a subsidy of Rs 1 lakh to buy the car begins.
The applicant will then get an SMS on his given mobile number as soon as his or her subsidy is granted. The person will also receive another SMS when the fund is released. The Transport Department has introduced the SMS-based system recently, by which the applicant no longer needs to run to a dealer or any other official to know whether the subsidy has been released.
The STA’s office in Kolkata is at Kasba, while there are two more offices in Siliguri and Durgapur. In the Left Front regime, people from across the state had to come to the STA in Kasba for the interview and the permits. The Trinamul Government has since set up the branch offices in Siliguri and Durgapur, which will cater to the applicants from North Bengal and South Bengal respectively. Applicants from districts in and adjacent to Kolkata can get their permits from the Kasba office. The Gatidhara project was the brainchild of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. So far, around 13,000 unemployed youths have benefitted from it.
The Transport Department has a target of bringing 10,000 more people under the scheme in the 2017-18 financial year.
পরিবহণ দপ্তরের উদ্যোগে এবার গতিধারা প্রকল্পের পারমিট মিলবে অনলাইনে
রাজ্য পরিবহণ দপ্তর সুচনা করল এক অভিনব অনলাইন পরিষেবার। এই পরিষেবায় গতিধারা প্রকল্পের অন্তর্গত বিলাসবহুল গাড়ির পারমিট পেতে আবেদন করতে পারবে অনলাইনে।
এই পদক্ষেপ গ্রহণ করার ফলে আবেদন জমা দেওয়ার পদ্ধতি হল আরও সহজ ও ঝামেলাহীন।
এতদিন পর্যন্ত আবেদনকারীদের লম্বা লাইনে দাঁড়াতে হত অ্যাপয়েন্টমেন্ট ও ইন্টারভিউ-এর তারিখ পেতে। এই নতুন পদ্ধতিতে আর আবেদনকারীকে স্টেট ট্রান্সপোর্ট অথরিটি’র দপ্তরে যেতে হবে না।
আবেদনের জন্য শুধুমাত্র www.transport.wb.gov.in ওয়েবসাইটে গিয়ে, Annexure-I, Annexure-II and Annexure-III – এই তিনটি ফর্ম ডাউনলোড করে ভর্তি করে জমা দিলেই মিলবে অ্যাপয়েন্টমেন্ট-এর নির্দিষ্ট দিন ও সময়। এরপর নির্দিষ্ট দিনে নির্দিষ্ট সময়ে আবেদনকারীকে প্রয়োজনীয় নথিপত্র নিয়ে যেতে হবে স্টেট ট্রান্সপোর্ট অথরিটি’র দপ্তরে ইন্টারভিউ-এর জন্য।
গতিধারা প্রকল্পের অন্তর্গত এই আবেদন জমা দেওয়া প্রাথমিক পর্যায়ের কাজ। এর ফলে বিলাসবহুল গাড়ি বাণিজ্যিক কারনে কেনার পারমিট পাওয়া যাবে। একবার পারমিট পাওয়া গেলে তারপর গাড়ি কেনার জন্য সরকারি ১ লক্ষ টাকা অনুদান পাওয়া যায়। আবেদনকারী তাঁর মোবাইল ফোনে মেসেজের মাধ্যমে জানতে পারবেন যে মুহূর্তে তাঁর এই অনুদান অনুমোদিত হবে। তিনি আরও একটি মেসেজ পাবেন যে মুহূর্তে তাঁর অই টাকা সরকার থেকে দিয়ে দেওয়া হবে। এই এসএমএস এর পদ্ধতিটিও সরকার অল্প কিছুদিন আগেই উদ্বোধন করেছেন। এর ফলে আবেদনকারীকে খোঁজখবর নিতে কোথাও যেতে হবে না।
স্টেট ট্রান্সপোর্ট অথরিটি’র দপ্তর কলকাতার কসবা, শিলিগুড়ি ও দুর্গাপুরে আছে। বিগত বাম সরকারের আমলে সারা রাজ্যের মানুষকে কসবা’য় আসতে হত। তৃণমূল সরকার ক্ষমতায় এসে শিলিগুড়ি ও দুর্গাপুরে শাখা খুলেছে। এর ফলে উপকৃত হচ্ছেন উত্তর ও দক্ষিন বঙ্গের মানুষ। কলকাতার পার্শ্ববর্তী অঞ্চলের মানুষরা কসবা থেকে পারমিট পেতে পারবেন। এই প্রকল্পটি মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের মানসকন্যা। এখনও পর্যন্ত এই প্রকল্পে উপকৃত হয়েছেন ১৩,০০০ বেকার যুবক।
২০১৭-১৮ বর্ষে আর ১০,০০০ বেকার যুবককে এই প্রকল্পের সুযোগ দেওয়ার লক্ষ্যমাত্রা স্থির করেছে পরিবহণ দপ্তর।
