Bengal CM warns of stern action against sand mafia
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday instructed the administration to take stern action against the sand mafia.
During the administrative meeting held with senior state government officials, she said “Do not spare the sand mafia. Take stringent action against them.”
The CM said the sand mafia were involved in illegal excavation from river bed and said it would have to be stopped. “If anyone is caught, he/she will not be spared and stern action will be taken against him/her,” she maintained.

মঙ্গলবার মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় প্রশাসনিক কর্তাদের নির্দেশ দেন বালি মাফিয়াদের বিরুদ্ধে কঠোর ব্যাবস্থা নিতে।
উচ্চপদস্থ সরকারি আধিকারিকদের সঙ্গে প্রশাসনিক বৈঠক চলাকালীন তিনি বলেন, “বালি মাফিয়াদের কোনও ভাবেই ছাড়া যাবে না, ওদের বিরুদ্ধে
কঠিন ব্যাবস্থা গ্রহন করুন।“
মুখ্যমন্ত্রী বলেন, এই বালি মাফিয়ারাই নদীগর্ভ থেকে বালি চুরি করে নিচ্ছে, এটা বন্ধ করতে হবে। যারা ধরা পড়বে, তাদের রেয়াত করা হবে না, কঠোর ব্যাবস্থা নেওয়া হবে।
