Bengal CM directs steps for proper distribution of relief materials
directed all ministers during the Cabinet meeting at Nabanna on Wednesday to take necessary steps in ensuring proper distribution of relief materials among flood-affected people in their respective areas.
It is learnt that the Chief Minister has asked them to be with the people in their respective areas as they are facing huge problems due to the man-made floods. The CM went to North Bengal on Monday and took a stock of the situation.
It may be mentioned that the state government had been providing relief materials including tarpaulin, dry food and clothes to flood-affected people. The state government has also ensured proper distribution of paddy seeds among farmers who incurred huge losses as crops were damaged due to the floods in 11 districts.
It is learnt that total “money value loss” in the agriculture sector in the state due to the floods amounted to around Rs 6,500 crore. In North Bengal, till now, the money value loss stands at around Rs 3,812 crore. In North and South Bengal, the area of agricultural land that has been affected due to floods was around 4.36 lakh hectare and 4.23 lakh hectare respectively.
The state Transport department has also taken necessary steps to ensure plying of buses from different locations in North Bengal to Kolkata and vice versa.
রাজ্যে বন্যায় ক্ষতির পরিমাণ প্রায় ১৪ হাজার কোটি টাকা
সোমবার নবান্নে উত্তর ও দক্ষিণ বঙ্গের বন্যা পরিস্থিতি নিয়ে মন্ত্রীসভার বৈঠক করেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। এদিনের বৈঠকে মন্ত্রীদের বন্যা দুর্গতদের পাশে দাঁড়ানোর নির্দেশ দেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী। প্রত্যেকে যাতে ত্রাণ পায়, ওষুধপত্র যাতে মজুত থাকে, সেদিকে নজর রাখতে বলেন। কয়েকদিন আগেই উত্তরবঙ্গের বন্যা পরিস্থিতি পরিদর্শনে যান মুখ্যমন্ত্রী। সেখানে গিয়ে বন্যার জলে নেমে দুর্গতদের সঙ্গে কথাও বলেন। এদিন রাজ্য সরকার বন্যায় ক্ষয়ক্ষতির একটি রিপোর্ট পেশ করেন।
বন্যায় দক্ষিণবঙ্গ ও উত্তরবঙ্গ মিলিয়ে এখনও পর্যন্ত রাজ্যের ক্ষয়ক্ষতির হিসাব প্রায় ১৪ হাজার কোটি টাকা। ফসলের ক্ষতির পরিমাণ ৬৫২৮ কোটি ১৫ লক্ষ ২২ হাজার টাকা। কৃষি দপ্তরের হিসাব অনুযায়ী, পাঁচটি বন্যা কবলিত জেলা ছাড়াও অতিবৃষ্টিতে দক্ষিণবঙ্গের আরও ন’টি জেলা মিলিয়ে মোট ২৭১৫ কোটি ৭৪ লক্ষ ৭১ হাজার টাকার ফসলের ক্ষতি হয়েছে। সেখানে এখনও পর্যন্ত জলে ডুবে থাকা উত্তরবঙ্গে ফসলের ক্ষতির পরিমাণ ৩৮২৫ কোটি ১ লক্ষ টাকা। কৃষি দপ্তর সূত্রে জানা গিয়েছে, বন্যার জল পুরোপুরি নেমে গেলে অন্যান্য ক্ষতির সঙ্গেই ফসলের ক্ষতির পরিমাণও বাড়বে।
কৃষিদপ্তর সূত্রে সোমবার জানানো হয়, উত্তরবঙ্গে ক্ষয়ক্ষতির পরিমাণ এখনও পর্যন্ত ৮০০ কোটি টাকা। কৃষি দপ্তর সূত্রে জানা গিয়েছে, কোচবিহার, জলপাইগুড়ি, আলিপুরদুয়ার, উত্তর দিনাজপুর, দক্ষিণ দিনাজপুর, মালদহ এবং শিলিগুড়ি মহকুমায় প্রাথমিক সমীক্ষার পর কৃষিজমি ও ফসলের যে ক্ষতির হিসাব পাওয়া গিয়েছে, তার পরিমাণ হল ৩৮২৫ কোটি ১ লক্ষ টাকা। ৪ লক্ষ ৭৩ হাজার ৮৬২ হেক্টর জমিতে ধানচাষের ক্ষতি হয়েছে। ২৬ হাজার ৮৮২ হেক্টর জমির সবজি নষ্ট হয়ে গিয়েছে। পাট নষ্ট হয়েছে ৪৭৫৯ হেক্টর জমির। সব মিলিয়ে ৫ লক্ষ ৬ হাজার ১৬৮ হেক্টর জমির চাষ নষ্ট হয়ে গিয়েছে। সব থেকে বেশি ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত হয়েছে দুই দিনাজপুর, মালদহ এবং কোচবিহার জেলায়।
এই সব রিপোর্টের উপর ভিত্তি করেই দিল্লিতে রিপোর্ট পাঠানো হবে। শুধুমাত্র কৃষিদপ্তরের ক্ষয়ক্ষতির পরিমাণ দাঁড়াবে দক্ষিণ ও উত্তরবঙ্গ মিলিয়ে কমপক্ষে ৭ হাজার কোটি টাকা।
