After ration, cards for kerosene withdrawal to go digital too
Cards for withdrawing kerosene from the public distribution system (PDS) will become digital as well, as have ration cards.
This decision of the State Government would mean that 9.3 crore people of Bengal will get digital kerosene cards. These cards would be in the shape and size of bank ATM cards, and hence would be convenient to carry.
The blue-coloured cards will have the name and address of the card-holder and the name of the kerosene distributor. It will cost the Government Rs 2.50 to make each card.
Once processed, the digital cards would be sent directly to the ration distribution shops. The existing card-holders would have to submit the old paper cards and take the new ones.

রেশনের পর এবার কেরোসিনের কার্ডও ডিজিটাল করার পরিকল্পনা নিয়েছে রাজ্য খাদ্য দপ্তর।
রাজ্যের ৯ কোটি ৩০ লক্ষ মানুষই এই ডিজিটাল কেরোসিন তেলের কার্ড পাবে।
খাদ্য দপ্তর সূত্রে খবর, ডিজিটাল রেশন কার্ডের সমতুল্যই হবে কেরোসিনের ডিজিটাল কার্ড। ব্যাঙ্কের এটিএম কার্ডের মত প্লাস্টিক ল্যামিনেশনযুক্ত হবে এই কার্ড।
কার্ডের রং হবে নীল। কার্ডে গ্রাহকের নাম, ঠিকানা, ডিলারের নাম সহ একাধিক তথ্য থাকবে। পরিচয়পত্র হিসেবেও কার্ডটি ব্যবহার করতে পারবেন গ্রাহকরা। প্রতিটি কার্ড বানাতে সরকারের খরচ হবে ২ টাকা ৫০ পয়সা।
ডিজিটাল কেরোসিন তৈরী হয়ে তা সরাসরি পৌঁছে যাবে রেশন অফিসে। বর্তমানে যে পুরনো সাদা কার্ডে কেরোসিন পাওয়া যাচ্ছে তা জমা দিয়ে নতুন কার্ড পাবেন গ্রাহকরা।
