The VB-G RAM G Bill was pushed through Parliament in an undemocratic manner

“After sixteen years, the Modi Government has suddenly decided that MGNREGA requires a name change. The VB-G RAM G Bill was pushed through Parliament in an undemocratic manner, despite strong objections from all opposition parties, who demanded that the Bill be referred to a Select Committee for proper scrutiny. The BJP Government, however, remains in denial. The honorific “Mahatma” was popularised by Kobiguru Rabindranath Tagore. This move by the BJP is therefore as much an insult to Mahatma Gandhi as it is to Gurudev. Having already withheld Bengal’s rightful dues amounting to ₹52,000 crore, the Government has now gone a step further by attempting to alter the fundamental character of this scheme. We demand that this black law be repealed at the earliest.” — Hon’ble MP Shri Ritabrata Banerjee
