For 12 hours straight, our Hon’ble MPs have been sitting on dharna because the Modi Government has reduced Parliament to a farce. MGNREGA was not reformed. It was EXECUTED. By dismantling MGNREGA, the Centre has struck at the very spine of rural India. It has attacked crores of labourers whose survival depended on guaranteed work and timely wages. Livelihoods have been sacrificed at the altar of ideological ego. By erasing Mahatma Gandhi’s name from the scheme, BJP has revealed its IDEOLOGICAL HATRED for Gandhian values. The same forces that opposed Gandhiji during his lifetime now seek to erase him through legislation. History will remember this clearly. MGNREGA was built to empower the poor. It was destroyed to satisfy the arrogance of power.
