Under Rule 230 of the proceedings and procedures of the Rajya Sabha I have given notice that there is no nexus, the debate should be adjourned because there is no reasonable nexus between the statement of objection given in the Bill because in the statement of objection, it has been stated in paragraph two, and with your kind permission, I will read only one line.

As a result that the Constitution of Pakistan and Bangladesh provide for a specific state religion, many persons belonging to Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, Parsi and Christian communities have faced persecution on grounds of religion. But Sir, in the Bill, nowhere it has been mentioned that citizenship will be granted to those who have fallen victim to religious persecution. Therefore, there is no reasonable nexus between the statement of objection given in the Bill. Therefore this Bill is defective and the debate should be adjourned till such period the Bill is rectified.
