Sudip Bandyopadhyay asks a Question on AYUSH hospitals

FULL TRANSCRIPT

Sir, AYUSH means Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy. The National Institute of Homeopathy situated is situated in Kolkata. There is a Unani hospital and college in my constituency (Uttar Kolkata).

My question is, though health is a State subject, AYUSH is not looked after by the State Government upto that importance because they are taken for granted as a side medicine, and not as a primary arrangement for medical treatment.

Can the Central Government directly send any assistance for this AYUSH chapter? I was once a minister in-charge of the department. That time, once this proposal was moved. It should be taken as a separate thought, a side idea.

Whether you can think this way that main medicine courses and AYUSH can be taken up by the other way to make this system more viable and more implicated for the welfare of the people.
