Kalyan Banerjee asks a Question about migration of labourers

Kalyan Banerjee asks a Question about migration of labourers

FULL TRANSCRIPT

The answer given by the minister is really appreciable because it is true to the spirit of the constitutional provisions. But I have been saying that since November, 2016. Now the industries have collapsed, many labourers have been out of employment.

Sir in my constituency itself, in a place called Domjur, there are 50,000 workers those who are in the business of preparation of ornaments. They worked all over India, specially Maharashtra, Kerala, Gujarat. Due to demonetisation these industries have collapsed. Now, out of 50,000 workers, nearly 45,000 have been out of employment; only 5,000 remained.

My very specific question, through you Sir, is that by reason of demonetisation, industries have collapsed, so many labourers have been out of employment. Nearly 40% of the labourers lost their employment. What measures have you taken for the purpose of re-employing them, and to give employment to more labourers?
