BJP’s bohiragoto arrogance has now descended into pure humiliation

BJP’s bohiragoto arrogance has now descended into pure humiliation. A party that barges into Bengal to lecture us on our own civilisation cannot even get the names of our greatest icons right.

Yesterday in Parliament, the Prime Minister of India reduced Rishi Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay, the creator of Vande Mataram and a giant of our nationalist consciousness to “Bankim-da.” Minutes later, his minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat lowered the bar even further by calling him “Bankim Das.”

This is the BJP’s bohiragoto DNA in its rawest form, a party so culturally hollow that it cannot even pronounce the names of the icons it claims to honour.

They dream of ruling Bengal, yet cannot spare five seconds to learn the history of the land they want to control.
