BJP has choked the flow of MGNREGA funds for years, weaponising deprivation as a political tool, a calculated assault on the livelihoods of rural workers who depend on timely wages to survive. Every blocked rupee is a day of hunger, a day of uncertainty, a day stolen from the people of Bengal.
The Centre’s refusal to release ₹52,000 crore is an act of cruelty masquerading as governance. It has halted works, pushed families into distress, and punished Bengal for daring to vote independently. This is not federalism, it is economic hostage-taking.
But our MPs made it clear today: this injustice will be challenged in every forum, every street, every constitutional space available.
