West Bengal to become `Nirmal Rajya` by March 31, 2017

Birbhum District Administration is riding high on the developmental wave initiated by Chief Minister Ms. Mamata Banerjee. By 2015, the district will be transformed into `Nirmal Jela`. Under the `Nirmal Bharat Avijan`, 1 lakh 90 thousand families will be included in the 100 days` work scheme to carry out this process. 50 thousand families of Birbhum district have already been aided to build proper sanitation system in their homes. Another 50 thousand families will be having the same facility by March 31, 2014. By March 31, 2015, all families in the district will have similar facilities.
Chief Minister Ms. Mamata Banerjee has already set the deadline to turn the state into a `Nirmal Rajya`. By March 31, 2017, every home in the state will have proper sanitation facilities.
In another developmental drive, the 100 days` work scheme will be utilized in the district of Purulia for rural electrification. The state government has taken a grand initiative to electrify every household in the state by December 2014. To bring more pace into the work being done, rural workers will now be doing constructions work for rural electrification, under the 100 days` work scheme. Power Minister Mr. Manish Gupta recently held meetings with the district administration both at Purulia and Bankura to finalise the finer details.
