WB CM warns of strict action against separatist groups in North Bengal

Trinamool Chairperson Ms. Mamata Banerjee has instructed the party workers in North Bengal to counter the terror threats and separatist movements by engaging in mass outreach programmes. Trinamool All India General Secretary West Bengal Chief Minister Ms. Mamata Banerjee will hold mass meetings in North Bengal in January. He also informed that the State Government is countering the separatist movement through administrative measures.

 

The State Government, under the able leadership of Ms. Mamata Banerjee had already brought peace in the Jangalmahal region and had curbed the Gorkhaland agitation through development and strict administrative measures in these areas. The recent separatist attacks are being taken seriously and already two senior ministers of the State cabinet, Mr. Subrata Mukherjee, the Panchayat & Rural Development Minister and Mr. Goutam Deb, Minister of North Bengal Development, have visited the affected areas.

 

 The Trinamool All India General Secretary will hold meetings at Alipurduar on January 3 and at Jalpaiguri on January 4, 2014.
