WB CM Mamata Banerjee inaugurates a host of developmental projects

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee inaugurated a host of projects at Kshudiram Anushilan Kendra today, at 5.30 pm.

Water supply and road projects in Durgapur and Asansol were inaugurated by the Chief Minister; a water supply project and a road widening project in Durgapur, and a road widening project and ADDA’s office building in Asansol.

Eco Park in New Town, near Kolkata, got a beautiful deer park-cum-deer treatment centre spread over 12 acres named Harinalaya, and a model of the famous Ghum railway station near Darjeeling, complete with a model toy train. A wax model of Maa Sarada, along with 23 others, was inaugurated at Mother’s Wax Museum, and a brilliantly designed pedestrian subway connecting the museum and Eco Park.

A potable water supply project of Bhadreshwar Municipality was inaugurated.

As a step towards fulfilment of the e-governance policy of the West Bengal Government, the Chief Minister initiated the implementation of the Rs 35-crore enterprise resource planning (ERP) project of West Bengal Power Development Corporation Limited (WBPDCL).

A mobile app named SWAS (Service With a Smile), for the development of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME), was launched. Through this app, entrepreneurs of West Bengal are provided with answers to their queries regarding statutory compliances and incentives.

Other road projects inaugurated included the renovated and widened bridge over the Kaljani River along the Dinhata-Balarampur-Chilakhara road, and the eight-laned Diamond Harbour Road, at a cost of Rs 105 crore and the widened Barasat-Basirhat Road, at a cost of Rs 108 crore.

In the health sector, seven super-speciality hospitals – Domkal, Gangarampur, Siuri, Rampurhat, Ghatal, Raiganj, Balurghat, a Mother & Child Hub at Chittaranjan Seva Sadan and Shishu Sadan in Kolkata, and SNCUs at the Katwa, Kalna and BN Bose Subdivisional Hospitals (the last one being in Barrackpore) were inaugurated.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee also laid the foundation stone for the Milan Mela Convention & Trade Centre, under WBIDC. Three units in WBIDC Industrial Parks were also inaugurated. Two are Prasad Seeds Unit at Vidyasagar Industrial Park and Shree Durga Creations Unit at Zari Hub.

The other one is Emami Cement Plant, set up at Panagarh Industrial Park in Bardhaman district.

Mamata Banerjee inaugurated and laid the foundation stones of five educational projects. An academic building of Bankura University, and administrative buildings of Diamond Harbour Women’s University and Bidhan Nagar Government College were inaugurated. Foundations stones were laid of Sanskrit Sahitya Charcha O Gabeshana Kendra in Nabadwip and the West Bengal University of Teachers’ Training, Educational Planning and Administration in Kolkata.

 

Highlights of  MB’s speech: 

• West Bengal Government is like a family which is working for the welfare of people

• Bengal is growing at a fast rate – whether it is in terms of GVA or GDP or any other sector

• The amount of work that has been done in the past four years, will be chronicled in the pages of history

• Fulfilling promises is an essential part of democracy. Making promises is futile unless it is followed up with action

• We have launched a project worth Rs 200 Cr to set up a permanent fair ground for holding conclaves

• A convention centre is coming up in Rajarhat

• Work for 32 multi super speciality hospitals have been completed

• There were 6 SNCUs in Bengal in 2011. Now there are 52 such units

• There were no SNSUs in Bengal. Now there are over 300 such units

• We are not beating around the bush. Every claim we make are backed by figures and facts

• Institutional delivery in Bengal has risen from 65% (in 2011) to 90% now

• Infant mortality rate has come down from 32 to 27. Beds and medicines are free in Bengal’s hospitals

• Number of medical seats in Bengal have risen from 1300 (in 2011) to 2900

• We have set up 15 new universities and 45 new colleges

• Permits have been given for new taxis; new bus routes have been created

• We have constructed 1000 km roads though State Highway Authority

• We are setting up 70-80 Pather Sathi motels at an interval of 35 km

• 171 new Kisan Mandis have been set up by our government

• Bengal is No. 1 in 100 Days’ Work. We have won Krishi Karman award for 4 years in a row

• There have been no LWE violence in Jangalmahal. We have reduced no. of mandays lost due to bandh to zero

• Great strides have been made in the tourism sector

• 70 lakh people have been covered by insurance

• 1.5 crore students have received scholarships. Why wasn’t Sanskrit University, Hindi College not set up before?

• We have given second language status to Ol Chiki, Urdu, Nepali

• 8.5 crore out of 9.1 crore people in the state are receiving some service from the govt under various schemes

• 33 lakh girls have been registered under Kanyashree. 40 lakh students are getting cycles. 30 lakh pattas have been given away

• We have created land bank and land use policy. We have created a land map

• 68 lakh people have got employment

• Bengal has no load-shedidng now. Bengal is a power-surplus state

• Earlier there was a slogan “loadshedding er sarkar, aar nei dorkar”. It is a thing of the past now

• We want smooth process for industrialisation, not a botched up hurried exercise

• At the Bengal Global Business Summit, we got proposals worth Rs 5 lakh crore in the last two years

• Lalgarh was infamous for violence before. Now there are nursing colleges, bridges and roads there

• Jangalmahal is smiling. Bengal’s biggest bridge has come up there

• I challenge the Opposition to prove their allegations against me. Do not engage in petty politics out of jealousy

• We were able to achieve democratic freedom in 2011 but not economic freedom. Centre has taken away Rs 1 lakh crore

• People say we took debt of Rs 1 lakh crore in 5 years. But out of that Rs 90000 Cr was used for repaying loans taken by Left

• Centre has stopped funds for several schemes. They take a share of our revenue and give a portion of it only

• I doubt if anyone else could have performed so much in the last 5 years in the conditions we had to work in

• I have visited districts for 105 administrative meetings

 

বাংলার মানুষের জন্য একগুচ্ছ প্রকল্পের উদ্বোধন মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর

আজ ক্ষুদিরাম অনুশীলন কেন্দ্রে একগুচ্ছ প্রকল্পের উদ্বোধন করলেন পশ্চিমবঙ্গের মাননীয়া মুখ্যমন্ত্রী শ্রীমতী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়।

গঙ্গাবক্ষে গারুলিয়া ও ভদ্রেশ্বর এই ২টি নতুন জেটি। নতুন ১৫০ আসনের ৪টি ইস্পাতের জলযান, নতুন ১০০টি আসনের কাঠের জলযান, ৪টি নবীকৃত জেটির শুভ উদ্বোধন করলেন।

সিউড়ি, রামপুরহাট, বালুরঘাট, গঙ্গারামপুর, ডোমকল, রায়গঞ্জ ও ঘাটাল এই  ৭টি মাল্টি সুপার স্পেশালিটি হসপিটাল, কাটোয়া ও কালনা মহকুমা হাসপাতাল এবং ব্যারাকপুরে বি এন বোস মহকুমা হাসপাতালে এস.এন.সি.ইউ ইত্যাদির শুভ উদ্বোধন করলেন। এর সঙ্গে চিত্তরঞ্জন সেবা সদন ও শিশু সদনে মাদার ও চাইল্ড হাবের শুভ শিলান্যাস করলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী।

জওহরলাল নেহেরু ন্যাশনাল আরবান রিনিউয়াল মিশনের অন্তর্গত ভদ্রেশ্বর পৌর এলাকায় কেএমডিএ রূপায়িত পরিস্রুত পানীয় জল সরবরাহ প্রকল্পের শুভ উদ্বোধন করবেন। এছাড়া আসানসোল দুর্গাপুর ডেভেলপমেন্ট অথরিটির নিজস্ব ভবনের উদ্বোধন হবে।নির্মল বাংলা মিশন অনুযায়ী সকল পৌরসভা ও পৌর নিগমের উন্নততর আবর্জনা ব্যবস্থাপনার লক্ষে ১৮৬টি চলমান ও ২২টি স্থিতিশীল কম্প্যাক্টর যন্ত্র প্রদানের শুভ সূচনা করলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী।

এছাড়া ক্ষুদ্র ও মাঝারি উদ্যোগের উন্নয়নের স্বার্থে একটি মোবাইল অ্যাপ SWAS এর সূচনা করলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী। এই পরিশেবার মাধ্যমে রাজ্যের উদ্যোগপতিরা শিল্প সংক্রান্ত ছাড়পত্র ও অনুদানের ব্যাপারে অনুসন্ধান করতে ও তার সমাধান করতে পারবেন।

এদিন আরও কিছু শিক্ষা প্রতিষ্ঠানের উদ্বোধন করেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী। বাঁকুড়া বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের অ্যাকাডেমিক ভবন, ডায়মণ্ড হারবার মহিলা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের প্রশাসনিক ভবন, বিধাননগর গভর্নমেন্ট কলেজের নতুন প্রশাসনিক ভবনের উদ্বোধন হল। এছাড়া নবদ্বীপে সংস্কৃত সাহিত্য চর্চা ও গবেষণা কেন্দ্র, কলকাতায় ওয়েস্ট বেঙ্গল ইউনিভার্সিটি অফ টিচার্স ট্রেনিং, এডুকেশন প্ল্যানিং অ্যান্ড অ্যাডমিনিস্ট্রেশনের ভিত্তিপ্রস্তর স্থাপন করা হল।

এর সঙ্গে আজ নিউটাউনের বিভিন্ন প্রকল্পও উদ্বোধন করলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী। যেমন – ইকো পার্কে হরিণালয়, পথচারীদের জন্য ইকো পার্ক ও মাদার্স ওয়াক্স মিউজিয়ামের সংযোগকারী সাবওয়ে, মাদার্স ওয়াক্স মিউজিয়ামে মা সারদার মোমের মূর্তি স্থাপন এবং ইকো পার্কে ঘুম রেলওয়ে স্টেশন ইত্যাদি।

এছাড়া মাননীয়া মুখ্যমন্ত্রী পশ্চিমবঙ্গ শিল্পোন্নয়ন পর্ষদ পরিচালিত ইন্ডাস্ট্রিয়াল পার্কের কয়েকটি ইউনিটের উদ্বোধন করলেন।

মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর বক্তব্যের কিছু বিষয়ঃ 

• পশ্চিমবঙ্গ সরকার একসাথে একটি পরিবারের মত মানুষের জন্য কাজ করে চলেছে

• গত ৪ বছরে যে বিপুল পরিমান কাজ করেছে তা ঐতিহাসিক

• রাজারহাটে আন্তর্জাতিক মানের একটি কনভেনশন সেন্টার তৈরি হচ্ছে

• ৩২টি মাল্টি সুপার স্পেশালটি হসপিটাল ইতিমধ্যেই তৈরি হয়ে গেছে

• আগে বাংলায় কোন এস এন এস ইউ ছিল না, আমরা ৩০০ টি এস এন এস ইউ ইউনিট তৈরি করেছি

• ৯ টি নতুন মেডিকেল কলেজ তৈরি হয়েছে

• বিনামূল্যে চিকিৎসা একমাত্র পাওয়া যায় পশ্চিমবঙ্গে

• শিশু মৃত্যুর হার ৩২% থেকে ২৭% কমিয়েছি

• ১৭১টি কিষান মাণ্ডি তৈরি হয়েছে

• ১৫টি নতুন বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় ও ৪৫টি নতুন কলেজ তৈরি হয়েছে গত ৪ বছরে

• ৩৫ কিমির মধ্যে ৭০-৮০ টি পথের সাথি মোটেল তৈরি করেছি আমরা

• ১০০ দিনের কাজে বাংলা এক নম্বরে। ৪ বছরে একাধিক বার কৃষি কর্মন পুরস্কার পেয়েছে বাংলা

• ১.৫ কোটি ছাত্রছাত্রী স্কলারশিপ পেয়েছে, এর আগে সংস্কৃত বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় ও হিন্দি কলেজ কেন তৈরি হয়নি?

• অলচিকি, উর্দু, নেপালি এগুলোকে আমরা দ্বিতীয় ভাষার মর্যাদা দিয়েছি

• রাজ্যের ৯.১ কোটি লোকের মধ্যে ৮.৫ কোটি লোকজন বিভিন্ন সরকারি প্রকল্পের আওতায় এসেছে

• ৩৩ লাখ কন্যাশ্রী, ৪০ লাখ সবুজ সাথী সাইকেল, ৩০ লাখ পাট্টা দেওয়া হয়েছে

• ৬৮ লক্ষ কর্মসংস্থান হয়েছে

• আমরা ল্যান্ড ব্যাঙ্ক তৈরি করেছি, ল্যান্ড ম্যাপ তৈরি করেছি

• ‘লোডশেডিং এর সরকার আর নেই দরকার’ আগের এই স্লোগান এখন আর শোনা যায় না

• বেঙ্গল গ্লোবাল বিজনেস সামিটে গত ২ বছরে ৫ লাখ কোটি টাকার প্রস্তাব এসেছে

• জঙ্গলমহল এখন হাসছে, এটি পশ্চিমবাংলার গর্ব

• লালগড়ে এখন আর কোনও হিংসা নেই, সেখানে নার্সিং কলেজ, রাস্তা, সেতু সব তৈরি হয়ে গেছে

• কেন্দ্র বিভিন্ন প্রকল্পে টাকা দেওয়া বন্ধ করে দিয়েছে

• আমি সমস্ত জেলা পরিদর্শন করে প্রায় ১০৫টি প্রশাসনিক বৈঠক করেছি

• আমি বিরোধীদের আমার বিরুদ্ধে সব অভিযোগ প্রমান করার চ্যালেঞ্জ জানাচ্ছি

• গত ৫ বছরে আমরা যে কাজ করেছি তা অন্য কেউ করে দেখাতে পারবে কিনা সে ব্যাপারে আমার সন্দেহ আছে
