After a rigorous three-hour review meeting with all her ministers and bureaucrats, to evaluate the performance of her government in the past six months, the West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, in Town Hall on Tuesday, expressed satisfaction on the report card.
This was the first review meeting after the recent panchayat elections success of the Trinamool Congress where 13 of the 17 zilla were won by the party. All the ministers and senior bureaucrats attended the meeting at the historic Town Hall where Ms Banerjee took stock of the work done by each department.
“We had very good discussions. We discussed the functioning of all departments. We tried to identify the problem areas, work process is good, “ the Chief Minister said.
CM Ms Mamata Banerjee will hold meetings with district administrations to evaluate the progress of several of her government`s pro-people programmes. The first of such meetings is planned for September 10.
“We will again hold administrative meetings in the districts. We have plans to complete touring half of the districts before the Durga Puja (in October), “ Ms Banerjee said.
Since coming to power in 2011, Mamata Banerjee has been holding such review meetings from time to time to keep her ministers and bureaucrats on alert and ensure time-bound implementation of development and welfare schemes.
