Trinamool to emerge as the third largest party after Lok Sabha polls: Pre-poll survey
Trinamool Chairperson has been saying that Trinamool will emerge as the third largest party in India after the Lok Sabha elections. Recent opinion polls held across news channels have vindicated the Chairperson`s stand. A pre-poll survey conducted by AC Nielson-ABP has predicted that Trinamool Congress led by Ms. Mamata Banerjee will gain the first place as the regional party with maximum number of seats in the upcoming 2014 Lok Sabha elections.
According to opinion poll held on March 2014, the Trinamool may get 28 seats. Incidentally, in 2009 Lok Sabha Polls, Trinamool Congress had won 19 seats. In the opinion polls conducted by the same organization in January and February this year, the numbers for Trinamool Congress stood at 26 and 29 respectively. The survey says that 41 per cent of voters in Bengal may vote for Trinamool Congress.
According to this pre-poll survey, the other regional parties like BSP – led by Ms. Mayawati – may get around 18 seats in Uttar Pradesh while AIDMK – led by Ms Jayalalitha – may get around 21 seats in Tamil Nadu. In Andhra Pradesh, the YSRC, led by Jagan Reddy may get around 17 seats while JDU, led by Nitish Kumar in Bihar may be reduced to 6 seats.
One of the interesting results this survey produced is the decrease in the number of seats of the CPI(M) in West Bengal. The survey says Left parties – consisting CPI(M), CPI, AIFB and RSP – may get 31 per cent votes in the state.

ভারতের বিভিন্ন আঞ্চলিক দলগুলির মধ্যে ২০১৪ সালের আসন্ন লোকসভা নির্বাচনে মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় প্রথম স্থান দখল করতে চলেছেন। এবিপি আনন্দ–এসি নিয়েলসেনের সমীক্ষা থেকে এই তথ্য স্পষ্ট হয়ে উঠেছে। জয়ললিতা এবং মায়াবতীকে পিছনে ফেলে “দিদি” মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় যে ভাবে আঞ্চলিক দলগুলির মধ্যে এক নম্বরে উঠে আসছেন।
গত লোকসভা নির্বাচনে মমতার দলের প্রাপ্ত আসন সংখ্যা ছিল ১৯। এবিপি আনন্দ–এসি নিয়েলসেনের জানুয়ারি ও ফেব্রুয়ারি মাসের সমীক্ষা অনুযায়ী তৃণমূলের সম্ভাব্য আসনপ্রাপ্তির হিসেব ছিল যথাক্রমে ২৬ ও ২৯। এ বারের সমীক্ষা সম্পর্কে বলতে গিয়ে তৃণমূল নেতা মুকুল রায়ের মন্তব্য, “সমীক্ষার তুলনায় আসন সংখ্যা আরও বাড়বে।“
