Rajarhat landlosers yet to get compensation, says Partha

Trinamool Congress leader Partha Chatterjee visited Rajarhat New Town on Wednesday following complaints that Hidco authorities have allegedly acquired a large area near Action Area-II without compensating land owners. Chatterjee said he had gone to Rajarhat following orders from his leader Mamata Banerjee. He was accompanied by the Rajarhat Jomi Bachao Committee and several other Trinamool supporters. “As I reached Rajarhat, several landowners surrounded me to complain that their land was forcibly taken by Hidco. The landowners complained to me that they still have not received any compensation from Hidco. The authorities have acquired large tracts of land but no work has been done on them so far,” he said. Chatterjee said that the area fell near the wetlands. “The authorities are also destroying the wetlands for many years. I will compile all the details and will submit a report to my leader Mamata Banerjee soon,” he said.
