Panchayat Minister declares facilities for panchayat employees of the state
Panchayat Minister Subrata Mukherjee declared facilities and promotional opportunities for panchayat employees of the state. It has been done for the sake of the people, he said.
The facilities will benefit employees of the panchayat department at various levels. 
They are:
Twenty per cent posts of assistant engineers in zila parishads will be filled up from the field assistants in gram panchayats.
The percentage of reservation for filing up the posts of executive engineers in gram panchayats from secretaries and executive assistants has been increased from 25 per cent to 35 per cent.
A post of accountant has been created in all the 341 panchayat samities. These posts will be filled up by cashiers and assistant secretaries in the samities
System managers of zila parishads will be promoted from Block Informatics officers.
Half of the post of Block Informatics Officers will be filled by data entry operators in gram panchayats.
A post of senior stenographer has been created in all zila parishads.
On completing 25 years of service, an assistant engineer or executive engineer or district engineer of panchayat department will be eligible for the post of superintending engineer of a zila parishad.
The post of education officer of zila parishad will be regarded as feeder post for promotion to the post of assistant co-ordinator in the district.
The posts of store keeper and accountant of zila parishads will be considered for promotion to the post of Superintendent in zila parishad.
Cashiers of zila parishads can be promoted to the post of accountant.
Travel allowance for visually and physically challenged staff.
Maternity leaves increased from 120 days to 180 days.
In addition, the rate of assistance to widows, physically challenged people, under the BPL category has been hiked.
