Narendra Modi is covered in the blood of riot victims from top to bottom: Mamata Banerjee in Bishnupur
Trinamool Congress Chairperson Mamata Banerjee addressed a public meeting at Radhanagar in Bishnupur Lok Sabha constituency. She said that Narendra Modi is covered in the blood of riot victims from top to bottom.
Highlights of her speech:
You call me a ‘tolabaj. If I am a tolabaj, from top to bottom you are covered by the blood of the people affected by riots.
I have shed blood for the people. What have you done, Narendra Modi?
We have done a lot of developmental activities in this region, encompassing all departments. We are completing drinking water projects to benefit 23 lakh people. Santhal Academy, schools, better roads, bridges, industrial parks, irrigation projects, etc. have also been built.
99% of people in this district have received some benefit of the other from the State Government; people of all castes, including from the category of general caste, are getting benefits.
We use slogans which Bangla’s leaders first said – Jai HInd by Netaji, Vande Mataram by Bankim Chandra, ‘Banglar Mati Banglar Jai’, ‘Jai Maa Durga Ki’ or ‘Jai Kali Ki Jai’. But then, we don’t force people to say what we say, the thing which BJP does. It wants everyone to say ‘Jai Shri Ram’.
You take the name of Ram all the time, but what have you done? We have constructed the skywalk, renovated the house of Swami Vivekananda and Sister Nivedita, and so many temples across Bangla. But have you managed to construct the Ram Temple in five years? You give the slogan, ‘Jai Shri Ram’, but what have you done?
You cannot force someone to give a slogan – the slogan you want people to give. We respect Lord Ram, and know how to give him the proper respect.
I will say Jai Hind, Vande Mataram, ‘Maa-Mati-Manush-er jai’, ‘Trinamool Congress-er jai’, but never the slogan which the BJP wants people to say.
The people who roamed around in half pants once now shop in shopping malls, with boxes of money in hand. Modi only roamed the world for five years.
Modi never came to Bangla or did anything good for its people till now. He never helped the people with money after the floods. We, on the other hand, have done so much.
I regularly come here to take stock of the development. I was here during the storm in Kharagpur. You were not here then. And now you come here and call for help. But just because of the election you came here, Modi, and not because you have any feelings for the people affected by the storm
You cannot neglect the chief minister, and call the chief secretary to your meeting. The latter works under the chief minister.
You may not like a person but one who gives his life or the country deserves everyone’s respect. You have insulted Rajiv Gandhi.
Look at UP, Bihar, MP, Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh, and see how your govt has taken away the land of the Adivasis. We, on the other hand, have helped them as much as we can.
Your government, Narendra Modi, has increased prices indiscriminately – from cooking gas to cable television charges. Farmers have committed suicides. 3 crore people have lost their jobs. And he had promised ‘achhe din’!
In his affidavit, while filing papers for the election, Modi didn’t mention his wife at all. The person who cannot look after his wife, how will he look after the people of the country?
