More pre-delivery Waiting Huts to be set up by the State Govt

In order to provide adequate services to enable more institutional deliveries, the Bengal Government has decided to set up more Waiting Huts.
These clinics, with adequate numbers of doctors and nurses round-the-clock, and all necessary equipment, are set up in remote areas, from where access to hospitals is difficult. It is a pioneering concept in the country which the Central Government has accepted as a model and will implement in other parts.
Waiting Huts have been successful in reducing maternal deaths as from seven to 10 days before delivery, mothers can be admitted here. All the required nutritious food is also provided. Mother and child are under the constant attention of doctors and trained nurses.
When they are sent home, in the care of a family member(s), all required information is provided regarding the care of the mother and child, including on vaccination.
