Mamata Banerjee’s message on the eve of 21st July rally

Mamata Banerjee today visited Dharmatala to check the final preparations for the annual Martyrs Day rally. Lakhs of people have already started coming in to Kolkata from various districts.
Here is Didi’s message on the eve of 21st July rally
Tomorrow we are going to organise our annual programme on the occasion of 21st July Martyrs Day. This is the 25th anniversary of 21st July rally. We have been observing this day for the last 25 years. This is our annual programme dedicated to the Maa, Mati, Manush. We pay our respects to the martyrs, as well as take new resolve for the future. Families of martyrs from Singur, Nandigram, Netai, 21st July martyrs, even Nurul Islam’s mother attend this programme. She will come this year if her health permits. We are grateful to them. The martyrs will be alive in our hearts.
21st July is not just a date – it is a movement, it is an emotion, a feeling. 21 stands for resolve, 21 stands for language, 21 gives us hope, it shows us the future.
Traffic may be held up tomorrow because of the programme, we apologise for that. Tomorrow is Saturday. We will try our best not to inconvenience the people at large. We organise this rally once a year, not every day.
We welcome one and all for tomorrow’s programme. Those who come for the rally must do so peacefully, with discipline. Maintain road safety. Make way for ambulance and health services. We seek everyone’s cooperation for tomorrow’s programme.
